MOORABBIN Ground !!
Many will recall from a few years ago that there was a "LUNATIC" on the Kingston Council who organised a group of like minded lunatics, called themselves "Friends of Linton Street" and spent their weekends planting trees in the carpark, only to have council gardeners rip them up on Monday mornings.
I thought that this activity would have stopped when the decision was made to re-locate to Belvedere Park. HOW WRONG WAS I? I have been informed by an impeccable source that the tree planting and protests still occur every weekend. It appears that these lunatics will keep it up until every aspect of St KFC/AFL Football is gone from the joint. They are probably also all members of "Save Albert Part" too.
They had better be ready for lots of protests and lots of tree planting because (I think) our lease on the Social Club facility is set in stone until something like 2040 !!

I'm sure lots of people know this but what is happening with the Moorabbin ground and land. Having lived in Sydney for 7 years, I missed out on that sort of news.

Most of the stands have been demolished. The social Club building is the only one left. There were heaps of pics of the demolition on here earlier this year. Someone might be able to dig them up. In short they are trying to turn the who place into open parkland !!

Ok. Have been down there and seen the sadness without the old grandstand and outer. Just thought they might develop as residential or commercial, similar to Mirvac Park.Eastern wrote:Most of the stands have been demolished. The social Club building is the only one left. I often take a drive past linton st. in my daily travels.
It makes me so SAD to see it in its current state.
And it makes me so MAD to think that teams like the dogs and north are able to keep there traditional homes and redevelop them whilst we are FORCED to move on!!
A nice shiny new multi million dollar facility in the back blocks of Melbourne just ISNT the same. It will be better for the players, and its for them and not us, but it dosent change the fact it will be SOULLESS !!
s***, and to think just a few years ago Butterrs was mooting we could redevelop it for games V interstate sides !! Was never ever going to happen mind you but still, from that ....to Linton St today.
Its more tragic , for me at least, than anyone else seems to think.

We should just let the place rot for the duration of the lease as a symbol to the stupidity of the Kingston Council F%$#WITS that led to this whole disgrace.
A memorial to those scumbag councillors.
A Council run by a bunch of football-hating (and probably men-hating) scum led by moron Sh1tsy Titsy.

I have asked this question a few times on here but never seem to get a reply - where are the saints training pre-season? Are they still using Moorabbin? Is it still useable? Probably a silly question, but if the ground is being demolished I am curious as to where we will train in the immediate future.

Have been using temporary Gym etc in the Social Club since early this year. Still using Moorabbin Oval. This will continue until the move to Belvedere Park towards the end of the 2010 season !!Moods wrote:I have asked this question a few times on here but never seem to get a reply - where are the saints training pre-season? A Hawthorn supporter huh, maybe the friends of Waverley Forest should dig holes in the Waverley ground and plant trees there.
