I had a dream and it came true re: our new home.
My dream was that the saints would call home a new modern building with heaps of red, white and black perspex .. and it came true or at least it is in the process of coming true. it was an abstract dream and one where we won the premiership aswell. i love the saints.

I had a nightmare we moved out of our spiritual home to some characterless windswept paddock with no history or emotional attachment next to a noisy freeway in a suburb full of welfare recipients.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Move on FFS and get over itEnrico_Misso wrote:I had a nightmare we moved out of our spiritual home to some characterless windswept paddock with no history or emotional attachment next to a noisy freeway in a suburb full of welfare recipients.
Most of the Moorabbin area were market gardens and paddocks when the Club moved there.
If you are not going to except the Club going forward, stop your bitching because nothing going to change.
How about you stop your repeated post against the move, it's getting a little tiresome

Also, please explain your comments about Seaford being a suburb full of welfare recipients???Enrico_Misso wrote:I had a nightmare we moved out of our spiritual home to some characterless windswept paddock with no history or emotional attachment next to a noisy freeway in a suburb full of welfare recipients.
Just what does that mean??
What suburb do you live in??
I don't live in Seaford, but I find your post insulting to any member that lives in that suburb, and believe me there would be many.

Move the F*** on and stop your stupid campaign about relocating...
We are only going to flowering train there FFS, it's not like the Club are going to play some serious matches there.
MOVE ON OR FLOWER OFF!!!
I am just fed up with your tireless vendetta against the Club's move and your constant rubbishing of the area.
It's going to happen, except it and either flower off, or shut the flower up

I have met Brett Bowey's parents on a few occasions and they are fantastic people, you have even disgraced your nic...

"Mr McCartney said firefighters had in the past been called out to small fires in the grandstand started by "vagrants"."
Notwithstanding this, the Saints clearly could not stay in Moorabbin either so time will tell on the wisdom of this move. Without restarting old debates I reckon Waverley would have been a wise move but we missed the bus on that one....funnily enough the only mode of public transport out there.

Rightly or wrongly there is some concern about the distance from Melbourne/Moorabbin of the new facility and its ability to remain undamaged by local interference or otherwise.
For what it is also worth, I have much involvement with "local" residents and most of them would agree with me !!
I respect your views but am surprised by your overly harsh response. I should have been more aware of political correctness. Calling a Spade a Spade is a dangerous business. Best wishes BB.

Didn't that happen in 1965? We did alright then. Don't write it off before it happens. It may be a good thing. Kingston Council had their chance.Enrico_Misso wrote:I had a nightmare we moved out of our spiritual home to some characterless windswept paddock with no history or emotional attachment (edited)in a suburb full of welfare recipients.
And I remember the first couple of years at Colonial/Telstra/Etihad not being that great either.

Big difference Milan.
In 65 we moved from one playing venue to another and then created our own history at the new venue.
But we will never play a game at Seaford.
It is purely a training ground.
Nothing else.
There is no emotional attachment.
StFid I am sorry if my rantings against the Kingston Council upset you.
But frankly I am still seething that these imbeciles have forced us out.
Had we won the flag last month I was going to drive with family and friends to Moorabbin (much) later that night (via Tommy Bent statue) and sneak in to the ground (had spotted a way in at training) and sing the song in the middle of the ground.
Why?
Because that, to me, is our home.
My two sons both visited the animal pit as new-borns on their way home from hospital.
Why?
Because that place meant so much to me.
Will I rush down to Seaford when we win the flag next year to stand in the middle of some ground I have no connection with?
No
Not planning any more children, but would I rush down to Seaford with my first grandchild?
No
Effectively we no longer have a home, a true home.
And that upsets me and makes me angry.
Frankston or Seaford or wherever will NEVER be our home.

Enrico is right. This thread is making me sad for two reasons now. (1) because we are leaving Moorabbin and (2) because we didn't win the flag and sing in the centre square at 4am. Maybe we should all just go down there and sing anyway........I can't believe we didn't win the flag......and I miss Moorabbin.Enrico_Misso wrote:Big difference Milan.

We will develop an emotional attachment to the new place, as time goes on, because that paddock will be where our team trains and further develops their team plan to stay at the top.
Furthermore, the facilities will be leading edge and provide our team with that extra 1-5% they need to keep at the top and keep ahead of all the other teams' improving training facilities.
Moorabbin may be our spiritual home...but the facilities have been let go over the last few years and it is crap for the players there now.
