YES. And with the whinging that Richmond & Adelaide are doing there are sure to be a few cosmetic changes !!
With no deserved due respect, F*** Richmond!

They are a rubbish team and deserve AT LEAST 11 Sunday games and 5 twilight game like what we were shafted with this season after being Prelim finalists.

Richmond got a good draw this year due to Cousins hype and other expectations that didn't work out.

As for Adelaide, I couldn't give a fig about them either!

Just maybe a couple of games would suit a few people. Not everyone can attend certain days.

I was under the impression all St Kilda supporters had been surveyed and agreed that they in fact were available between 5pm Fridays and 10.30 pm Saturday night to attend games but unavailable Sundays at all?

Surely the people have spoken....to be sure....

What's with Dimwit's obsession with us playing boring Sydney in Round 1 every friggin year?

Here's another (likely!) leak......

The AFL will be determined not to suspend Fevola, as they have done the draw around him - ie. Brisbane vs Carlton on Easter Thursday!

You're not suggesting hypocracy and/or double standards at AFL house, are you? Next you will be trying to tell us that Launcestonsaint is a Good Bloke  !!

It doesn't really bother me who we play, but I was hoping for a home game...

On another note, it's good to get one of our interstate games out of the way.

Also I could not give a rats about that cretin Fevola, it's Brisbane's worry now, and I am so glad we didn't draft the pr1ck.

Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

may have my maths wrong. but the odds of us playing sydney first 3 times in a row is over 3000 to 1.
why is the afl doing this? i cannot work out the atttraction, unless it is to free up the draw for 'bigger' games rnd 1.
wish they would act in the interests of equity first & foremost.
but might as well wish for an honest politician.

I enjoyed our match against Sydney round one last year, it's a match that will stick in my mind forever.

Sydney jumped us early, yet after quartertime it was evident that the boys had a new found belief in the gameplan. They concentrated on playing their roles and hitting their indicators, and the proof ended up being in the result.

It was also the debut of Zac and Farren, I enjoyed Zac's peformance on Barry enormously, especially given many of the doomsayers on here saying that he was going to be monstered by him.

So really, I don't care much who we play, though of course it would have been great if it was in Melbourne.

I just look forward to seeing more growth, and perhaps some memorable debut peformances.

Same here. We got caught on the freeway on the way in, parked underneath and came up into the ground just as Sydney scored their first which I think was to Barry Hall. By the time we walked around to the social club and got to our seats, they had kicked three and we were about 20 pts down. I remember thinking...oh no, not a good start. Could be a long year. I am such a pessimist... LOL..How wrong I was. As a family, we referred back to that game many times throughout the year. Sitting at 10 - 0, 12-0, 15-0 etc as the season wore on, we we talk about how at 1/4 time in the first game we looked out of it. Who would have though the year we were about to have.

Have you actually thought that both us and Sydney request the game. that would be my bet as we have played them 3 in a row.

considered it, but again, why?
why make such a request when if granted, it lessens your chances of getting other requests fulfilled. more likely the afl want it, and may allow us other concessions if we agree.

I know u r tongue in cheek but that is the reason that the media/afl/collingwood say they don't travel but I thought you had to play the interstate sides at least once..why don't they plat them all (6) interstate then they can play only vic teams at home

Ill go one further...the game that will forever stick in my mind is the one 3 weeks prior

A hot blustery Friday afternoon at Princes Park (no sponsor plug for you Carlton bwahahaha) saw a few of us witness possibly the worst game of senior football ive ever seen, practice match or otherwise. Turnover after turnover, flood after flood, the skills were just appalling as us and the Doggies put on what was, especially in the first half, more comedy than football. We did enough after 1/2 time to win the game but we walked away shaking our heads at what we had just seen. 7 days later we were towelled by Port

RL later admitted however that it was the Bulldogs game that confirmed to him that the players had at last got his defensive structures right. The next 19 weeks proved him correct, but at the time I would have just laughed. Shows in spades how much I know about AFL football tactics lol

back on topic..we were due an away Round 1 after 2 home games in 2008/2009, but...maybe a away game in Melbourne might be nice? ..weve not had one since 2003 (North at the G) and have played WCE, Brisbane and now Sydney away since.

You have a point, who would have thought huh...

It was very hot, I paid to much for a pretty ordinary hot dog, and ended up sitting in front of some annoying dogs supporters.

The match was strange, I left not knowing what to think really. I was intrigued to see Gilbert up forward, thought we would have seen that again.

In the final version of the draw, to be released on Friday, Richmond has been handed an additional two home games at the MCG and won the right to host the season-opener against Carlton on Thursday, March 25. Gale was also successful in switching the Tigers' only Friday night game - against St Kilda - from Etihad Stadium to the MCG.

http://www.theage.com.au/news/rfnews/ti ... 48232.html

Good news ..another away game at the G :-)
The Tigers only have to travel once to Subiaco and, as it stands, have been scheduled to play only one game against three of the top four sides with two games only against the Saints.
Better news 8-)
