Tommy Walsh and David Moran are also set to try their hand at a new sport in the coming months, with the pair having agreed to travel to Australia to try out for AFL side St Kilda. They go with O’Sullivan’s best wishes.
"Sure who could blame them for going to Australia free of charge? They'll be professionals for a couple of weeks and I can't imagine anyone saying no to that. They'll go down there and obviously it's up to them after that."

looks like he would be able to get on top of the kicking....
Solid looking unit actually.
Meh, I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of it all, but we should definitely give him a shot.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Great pick up!ttufc7 wrote:Heres a bit of footage of him kicking an AFL football from when he was down for a look earlier. Its from a documentary filmed by an irish station following Ricky Nixons camp for young Irish players. Worth a look. Tommy is on about 5:40 into it.
There is a bit about him here at 3:18 as well

I actually think he is more keen this year but I don't think he is keen enough.ausfatcat wrote:undecided wrote:He would be a great prospect if we get him, but I doubt he will
move to the AFL.
Seemed keen last year to sign up but due to circumstances couldn't, but not keen any more by the looks of it.
Anyone know when the saints have to decide by?

andTHEY may be still savouring last month’s 36th All-Ireland football title, but Kerry have suffered an early blow for 2010 with confirmation that Tommy Walsh has agreed a preliminary agreement with AFL outfit St Kilda. His club and inter-county colleague David Moran has also been offered an early trial with the same club.
Walsh has decided to opt for a reputed two year rookie contract, worth $80,000 (€47,000) per year.

thanks chook.
ST KILDA has completed a stunning hit and run raid on Ireland's best young gaelic player, Tommy Walsh, signing him late last night to a two-year rookie deal.
To the horror of the Gaelic Athletic Association and his county, Kerry, Saints list manager Matthew Drain flew from New York to Dublin overnight Sunday to sign Walsh, the winner of the 2008 Young Player of the Year.
