Dawson definitely promoted

Miles and Simpkin probably promoted

Three rookie promotions would mean we would not have to draft a single player in the National Draft (don't worry, I'm sure we'll use pick 32 at least)

Haretuku and Howard are in trouble

McGrath, McGarry, Gaertner & Tungatulum to be retained for a second year

We need to have vacancies on our rookie list. We have the two Irishmen, and Ross was keen to go the way of the Territory again, I dont kn0w if he still is.

Would doubt McGarry after what happened this year. Simpkin will not be promoted and in my opinion Miles should be delisted but it doesnt look that way.

Miles is almost 23 and has played 0 games.

Compare him to Clinton Jones. Drafted at 22, played 6 games in the year after he turned 23. When he turned 24 had still only played 6.

Miles might still deserve another year on the list to become a player. (Though I don't remember ever seeing him so I'm not making that call.) With our grab bag of crappy draft picks, I feel certain he'll be promoted.

Check the source of that.
I think you will find that is from another post and how our list looks now with the presumption of permanent promtions for Dawson, Miles, Duncan and Widner but does not become official until List Lodgement No 1 on 30 October.

Clubs must make 3 draft picks but a rookie promotion can reduce that to 2, but further rookie promotions don't help.
St Kilda still has to use two picks Nos 32 and 60.

However as a result of trading some clubs have accumulated a number of early picks.
If they don't clear space for their later picks, these later picks will be cancelled and St Kilda's pick 60 could end up in the high 50s.

I'm pretty sure only one rookie promotion counts as a draft pick. So we still have to use picks 32 and 60.

Note I'm not entirely sure but its what I heard.

All picks have to be draft picks but we can use 62 and 78 and 94 and so on as long as we delist enough players to get those picks. At the moment we only have 2 picks because no player has been delisted and 2 have retired.

According to a thread on Big Footy, McGarry has been let go as well. Does anyone actually know which rookies are being retained and which ones let go?

With Brisbane's announcement today, it's about time we made some sort of public utterance about our delistings. However, the club are probably waiting for Luke Ball to get back from NYC.

At the moment Khan, McGarry and Ross are gone from the rookie list and LJ and Begley are gone from the main list. may still be one or 2 more. Howard and Fisher depending on contracts i would say.

I must be mistaken, but I thought when you took a rookie you had him for two years.

Not for about 5 years. You can keep them 2 years but they can get a one year contract.

So it's all speculation, then? Or is there some proof?

No speculation. Geoff Linke hasnt played at our club for over 20 years so he will not be delisted.

Who is this LJ character? Is he related to BJ?

I seem to remember Eljay Connors being drafted at pick 70 in 2007.
Interestingly his weight was listed at 70kg and he hasn't put on a gram since.

Is often referred to as LJ as he was named after an uncle's initials.

He put on a fair bit last year over the pre-season but again a couple of injuries knocked him down.
