Gee, I miss the footy!
We're in that period between footy and the main cricket season.
I'm so bored sports wise. I know there are other things to do and I do other things....but without that weekly footy fix and the media full of news, I am walking the quiet streets of Melbourne like a dog without a bone.
I think the GF blues have finally hit me. There really aren't many exciting threads on the forum at the moment and that is understandable. I think most people are taking a break.
Go Socceroos??? and yay horses
Bring on 2010!

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
I agree.
While I am managing to catch up on all the things I didn't do and ppl I didn't see during the footy season, there still seems to be something missing.
I am finding myself surfing the net for obsure things and wacthing crap shows on pay tv.
Love the cricket, tennis and netball - but don't care for horse racing....so the next few weeks are going to be tough.

Yeah gotta say Im feeling it too
Love my Test cricket to death but growing very weary of one-dayers and just cant seem to get into twenty/20
Tennis bores me silly most of the time, too many boorish overpaid tantrum-throwers
Dont start me on the Spring Racing Carnival..they should make those tossers in the Nursery and Birdcage sit a test on horse racing before they let them in Id fail yes but Ive no interest in going in the first place.

Crickets dead - wooohooo....hope we beat the Windies and their 47 yr old captain so we get more Michael "Beckham" Clarke ads attempting to talk in a deeper voice.......still I do think the "national NSW side" should do well..
Horse racing - utter dribble. Do enjoy the phillies though......
Soccer? WTF.
Im running out of options......we have the best game in the world...

I'm not into summer sports at all. Have the MLB play-offs, unfortunately the Yankees are through. The NFL, but unfortunately the time zone difference make it har too watch, very inconsiderate of them.
Looking forward to the Winter Olympics, which will also coincide with the beginning of the pre-season.

Haven't been raiding my Saints DVD archive recently, such a great season and no premiership, too depressing!kosifantutti23 wrote:I've got 22 DVDs to watch.
I'll start with Round 1 St Kilda v Sydney.
Though I watched the '96 Ansett Cup recently, just for a bit of fun. Also checked out the '04 season highlights DVD, Luke Ball could certainly kick a goal back then!
Might try taking up the EPL again, tried last year but soccer is just so slow!
Bad management is bad management

Are you being sarcastic?rodgerfox wrote:The Spring Racing Carnival is by far, the best sporting event in the country.
By a mile.
How can you not get excited by it?
I actually really love racing so the spring carnival is always good.
My tips for the Melbourne cup:
Efficient
Cape Cover (Roughy)
I also think they are 2 of the most exciting horses to watch as they run at the back of the pack and then start mowing them down, down the outside

any other year i'd usually agree, but the pain of the grand final loss is still too strong to be missing footy. i really thought we would win it, in my heart of hearts... and i was crushed.
i had some covering bets on the cats and storm so i'll blow that on the spring carnival, but i'm still a month of two off missing footy i think.
mind you, the new house was finished today with the foxtel iq lines in. foxtel is back baby, and i'm going to be liking brisbane a whole lot more!!!
