I've done a 100% turn around on Ross.
people we demanding that baker was finished = outstanding season after a few tune up games.
people said ball was finished when dropped = if your honest he did have a fine final series including a fine grand final.
in fact everything went to plan, including significantly outplaying hte mighty cats = EXCEPT IN FRONT OF GOAL.
Ross makes mistakes, but he is clever, has faith in his players and gets as much out of htem as any coach.
if Leigh Fisher has a future at st kilda then Ross clearly thinks he has.
Its amazing the judgements (myself included - embarrassing retractions about clint jones) we make about players and are proven wrong over and over and over again.

He got it all right. It unravelled late in the game when all the lack of scoreboard pressure hit home.

He was a rookie
Played vitually all year in VFL RESERVES
A long long long way away from regular AFL seniors
Mentioned he was homesick as well somtime back
his development was coming from way to far back.
Many rookies are overated by their own supporters including many on here
Had some talent.......developement gap required too big...........

Yeah Bernard S soothsaid this one many moons back...
Too light, too far from home.
A shame. The one time I saw him I was dazzled by his zip.
Agree with whoever said heavy frames is the RL go. It's all about out Catting the Cats. Bigger, faster, stronger, more skill, more disciplined.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
Choo Choo will be able to take his experiences back, and relay them to others in the Tiwis. The experiment will do much to improve the standard of footy up there. Would like to see us draft one tiwi guy a year as a rookie, just to encourage the development of footy on the islands. Not so long ago recruiting from Darwin was an experiment.... in twenty years we could see a steady stream of guys from up there recruited into AFL.

I had heard he was to be delisted. Not sure why, but the OP seems to indicate he wanted to go back home.SainterK wrote:Don't quote me, but I think Bernard Shakey highlighted a couple of weeks back that there was an element of home sickness in this case?
