Paul Connors was pedalling a similar story early this morning. He seems to have plenty of time to talk to the media. Or, is he starting to panic? !!SainterK wrote:Paul Connors is confident Luke will be a magpie by 2.00pm tomorrow....further names that have been thrown up as a possible trade on SEN rumour mill.

How about that?groupie1 wrote:GoldBringBackMadDog wrote:Ball is a perfect fit for Collingwood.
Imagine this:
One Ball
A Dick
A Cox
A Goldsack
And 35 other useless c*nts
PERFECT!!
So the reason Collingwood is chasing Luke Ball is because they have already got a Dick, Cox and Goldsack - but they have not had any Balls?
This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.
then they can all have a jolly good timembogo wrote:How about that?groupie1 wrote:GoldBringBackMadDog wrote:Ball is a perfect fit for Collingwood.

Is that the same Anthony that had about a handful of touches in the entire finals series? He's a nice kick for goal, but he needs to get his hands on it first.Armoooo wrote:Dawes and Wellingham no thanks.

So Ball for Everitt, not too sure...I think we need something else thrown in. Effectively it is like getting a second rounder for Ball and then on trading to Bulldogs....would we be happy with this?Bardon Saint wrote:I'd be happy with that. Well as happy as you could get after losing Ball. It beats a straight swap for a pies munter. Everitt has potential.joffaboy wrote:Speculation at BF

Given what we're seeing in the trade market, Ball is worth a pick in the low-to-mid 20s. Pick 30 is a bit undervalue perhaps, but about right. If Colingwood adds Dawes to the Doggies to get us Everitt I think that's a pretty good deal.

Would have thought it a little fairer had we received pick 30 and Everitt...Statsman wrote:Given what we're seeing in the trade market, Ball is worth a pick in the low-to-mid 20s. Hey if they want to give us Anthony, I'd jump on it.
We needed more pace, get Lovett and Peake, we need a third forward, bingo Anthony.
Mind you, I don't think the filth are stupid enough to trade away one of their best forwards, but then again, they just might be.

Agreed. This would wrap up a pretty reasonable trade week for us. Still got all of our guns, picked up some real pace and a pretty good swing man who can take a mark. And we still have some kids coming on ala Stevens, Macca, Armo, Stanley, Geary etc. Plus we may also land the irish sensation Big Tommy Walsh.Statsman wrote:Given what we're seeing in the trade market, Ball is worth a pick in the low-to-mid 20s. I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Everitt has potential but really he is not enough for a player like Ball
From the contract offer we gave him we obviously don't value him too highly.
25yo former captain, B&F winner and AA who has serious question marks over his fitness (injuries).
Surely if we rated him close to his best then he could command the 500-600k he thinks he should be on?
Collingwood by offering him 500k believe he is capable of getting back to his best.
We apparently don't.

I am really confused here...
Ok, he has been a great servant andcourageous... an dI have bee a big fan.
But, as a mid, I reckon he's half the player that Lenny is.
Sure, he can get you a clearance, but what else does he contribute?
Let's be honest.
He can handball, but what else?
If we tale Luke Ballof today, and not what he was... how good is he?
It wasn't that long ago that we were burnt by a huge contract with Hamill.
Fact is that there are many players far ahead of Ball in our team who desrve to be rewarded ofr the contribution.
Players like Zac and Ray have contributed more this season, as has McQualter.
