The classism is a bit rich.
Luke saw Steven and he saw Armitage and he saw his OP and saw the writing on the wall. If he wants to play as an integral part of a senior AFL team he needs to do it at another club.
If we didn't lose Luke Ball this year, we'd have lost Armitage the next.
I feel for the kid. Couldda been anything. Thomas threw him under packs when he was 19, injured, and still finding his feet. That's when you play them at half back and let them get used to the big bodies. Grant Thomas and that f***-knuckle incompetent mother fucker Chris Jones - guy who's dimwitted ineptitude cost us at least one, probably two flags (04 and 05) - the meat-and-potatoes guy (some will know what I'm talking about), destroyed Luke Ball and that's the sad thing about all this.
I agree with your last 3 paragraphs groupie, but the classism goes to the sense out of this of a bloke who likely has an extremely high sense of self regard - probably relatively justifiably so - however when a bloke who has been told, and when the sun actually does shine out of his arse for all his life....... private school, top marks in VCE, top cricketer, AFL star, top bloke etc. etc. - well, when the wheels fall off, as they have done this year.... well I suggest to you that the dummy gets spat out.
Dress it up however you like, in essence that is what this is about... Luke sees that he is being challenged to keep his spot in the Saints team and he no longer backs himself to beat off ther challengers. Can there be any doubt that he deserved to be dropped this year? Can there be any doubt that if he rediscovered his form of 2006 that he would be an automatic starter?
Luke's problems have always been framed to be physical ones. I'm beginning to realise that there are mental challenges that he has not been able to overcome also. A shame, but also, the cold, hard, truth. Welcome back to the land of the midgets Luke.
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...
