Don't be surprised if after winning the flag next year we come under some severe salary cap pressure & are forced into trading some reasonable players for draft picks.
We are in a very good position to have a sustained period of success during the GC17 & WS18 affected years & when the inevitable down period comes we will be able to take part in uncompromised drafts.

OMO our main chance ata flag is while we still have BOTH Lenny and roo in their prime.
They are our best two players.
How long Roo's knee last who knows.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....

Trade week usually makes me feel a touch bilious, but I have a good feeling about Lovett.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

How many of us would have gone if the club had an official presentation for Andy Lovett at Moorabbin?
They could sell a few guernseys with number 9 on the back, get some Andy Lovett t-shirts made etc etc
Maybe get him onto the oval for a bit of a kick in front of the cameras.
Clubs could make some money out of these occasions.

Lyon said he was happy to have Lovett join the Saints but he would not guarantee him anything.
“From here it is going to be about the actions now. We don’t want to talk too much," the coach said.
"Andrew will come and do a good pre-season and earn his spot in the team. Nothing will be gifted but we will provide every opportunity and resource for Andrew to play his best footy."
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...
