I googled to see if the trade rumour was anywhere else, and this came up....
http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2009/0 ... sport.html
TERRITORIAN Xavier Clarke went through a wave of different emotions watching his St Kilda teammates lose a thrilling AFL Grand Final on Saturday.
Clarke, who turns 26 today, missed the entire 2009 season after knee surgery in May to repair a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee.
But that pain was minor compared to the heartbreak he saw his brother Raphael and his teammates go through on grand final day.
"I guess I knew pretty early I was going to miss a full season, but it's always hard to watch your club play a game of footy, especially a grand final," Xavier said.
"When you come in after a game and see how disappointed they are, it's pretty tough. And the grand final was a fantastic game of footy where anyone could have won in the last 10 minutes.
"Unfortunately for the players and everyone else associated with St Kilda it wasn't us, which is really disappointing."
Clarke re-signed with St Kilda this month, locking himself into another 12 months and the chance to add to his 105 games.
"The club has shown great faith in me and I want to repay them for that," he said.

Theres no way Id trade Xavier Clarke -IMHO we have seen nowhere near the best of this bloke and the times his body has meant he could string games together hes looked better as hes gone on.
He can play - he is tough and willput the body and CAN run and carry - hes not just a pure outside mid.
Hope this is poor jorunalism.......and for a 4th rdr for a top 5 draft pick WTF.

Trade Wont happen x is a required player adds alot of pace, besides the fact that isn't the biggest kick in the team he adds alot to our side as a burst midfielder/rotation player. David Mission has done very well keeping our list fit and healthy lets hope he can xavier back at his best. Fourth Round Draft pick is not good enough as he was drafted in the top 10 a few years ago. Remember Xavier is 26 years old now in the peak of his playing career. HE'S A KEEPER!!

Is in Brisbane at the moment:
I'm a Lions supporter, what would X Clarke add to our side?
