Ball cruelled by OP

Post: # 841875Post ultima650 »

What might have been a champion person but since the OP he cant run and struggles to kick over a jam tin. We have a midfield that kicks few goals and lacks run unfortunately for Luke he is a major negative on those fronts. He would have to be 20 metres out to be confident of making the distance a sad but real truth. The only games we had trouble with all year were when our lack of pace was exposed.

i'm absolutely stoked someone of ball's calibre would want to come our way but what were the reasons why his game time had been reduced? have others in your club gone past him, is it the op coming back to haunt him or was it gt's treatment of him and what appeared to be riding him into the ground?

it concerns me that he can not kick over a jam tin but his in and under work should more than compensate. this should silence the "we never land a big fish" brigade that seem to come out of the woodwork at this time of the year.

Have not landed anything yet big guy. The reason pies have not landed much in trade week is you guys always expect to receive something for nothing. This year you're after Jolly, Fev and Ball, yet any player likely to make a starting 22 is deemed "off-limits". I groaned when I read L.Ball is wants a trade to Pies, because Pies have a history of not being fair-dinkum when it comes to trading.

Take a look at Lyon's trading history and you will find he wins more often than he loses. Pies can't force a PSD, so either the leopard changes it's spots and something REAL is put on the table, or I suspect a more likely outcome is that Luke Ball will end up at another Victorian club

What absolute garbage.

Showed on GF day how good he is.

Poorly coached this year. Lyon has admitted they stuffed it on GF day by not playing him more.

Massive error that not only influenced the result of the premiership, but has resulted in a club champion being forced out the door.

Simply ridiculous and incredibly poor management.

Collingwood will never land a big fish because Ego McGuire believes Collingwood is ENTITLED to something for nothing.
AND that Ego must always get the greater publicity.

Sad if Luke Ball leaves, but ulitmately he has had limitations since the OP issues, and no doubt that with Armo, Geary, Steven and Eddy and Dempster in the mix, Luke can see that there is just too much competition for a particular role in the team, so he's understandably pretty frustrated. As for the GF, he had a good crack at it, but I didn't think he set the world on fire and he got found out a few times by his opponents, I suspect his link up and run ability was a worry to RL??

You disagree?

We were in front at 3/4 time.

We have Roo on the ground who has played every single minute. Whilst his man has been rested every quarter.

So what do we do? We keep Ball on the bench who has had 22 touches and played less than half the game - and instruct the team to 'bomb it long' to Roo and Kosi.

Then what happens? Geelong, for the first time all day, get the ascendancy as 'bombing it long' opens the game up and we get rolled by 2 goals.

Why the hell would you do that? Lyon has conceded he stuffed it. The question is, is he capable of not panicking again?

IMO the game was lost during the 2nd and 3rd qtrs when our conversion was deplorable....should have been comfortably in front at 3qtr time...the foot was on their throats from late in the 1st till mid-way through the 3rd.i would have done exactly the same as Ross...the game was to be there to be won with our gun's doing the job during this time...we were killing them.
IMO Lyon has taken one for the team by saying he stuffed it.....he can't kick the goals that our guys should have...

Remember Mark McGough and how he used to get BOG every time it pissed down. Unfortunately Ball has become the same and it is all to do with the OP.
When McGOUGH played he used to get 20 possessions with less than 50% game time too with 0% damage. I love the BALL character too but if was anybody else we would want him traded especially when we play so many games under the roof.

Here we go...

We effectively lost by a kick to one of the modern era's greatest teams and out comes the resident fisherman to ply his trade.

Yep it was all RL's fault... even though coaches on gameday and gameplans are apparently overrated.... yawn.

Clearly not..better sack him and get your love-child back

Like many players Rodg..theres a huge difference between your best and worst..

You are capable of some very readable match reviews..but..then..every so often you bugger all the good work up with some transparently agenda-filled RL bashing. no doubt intended to fire the Forum up so that you can just sit back and watch the fallout without replying to any of the questions aimed at you..as you do so often

Dont play us for fools Rodg..we are onto you

I blame the Grand final loss on the remaining few ounces of GT's legacy. I think in 12 months time it will well and truly be beaten out of us and there will be nothing holding us back in 2010

The reason he wasn't on the ground RF you absolute knob is because he is simply incapable of impacting the game for any more than half its duration.

His body is ratshit.

He can't kick and can't run.

And he was overpaid for his output.

His goose is cooked.

And the primary reason for that is because your pin up boy GT ran him into the ground when his body was incapable of putting up with the load.

d**khead.

Pull your head in.

Bullsh1t! Nobody is forcing Ball out the door... its his choice! If he doesnt want to be aboard when we win the premiership, and can only think of himself and not the team, then F*ck him! Get rid of him and move on...

Because hindsight is an AWESOME coach that ALWAYS does things differently.

Plus more pace against the Dogs will always be good.

Possibly because he is human dodgy, at least we NOW have a coach who at least gets us into a Grand final and but for some shocking choking in front of goal, he'd now be a premiership coach.

Now many clubs are looking at copying St kilda's game plan, yep that's right dodgy, we now have a coach setting trends and but for poor goalkicking and not forgetting the bad weather hindered us more than the opposition, a game plan that would have delivered a premiership.

Carry on, dipshit!
