Yeah but we haven't got a balding guy in the team and Geelong have plenty perhaps we can on trade him for one their bald guys and by-pass the receeding straight to clean head. There is no way IF we get rid of Ball we're getting a hack like Fraser in return...

Really? When was that? Certainly wasn't 2003 b/c he embarassed himself in perfect footy conditions. PLayed OK in 02 GF. When was that again? 7 years ago did I hear you say?Johnny Utah wrote:& unlike Riewoldt & the big dud Kosi, Josh has actually stood up in a GF.ace wrote:Not exactly hot for a number 1 pick..
You're right, on second thoughts that average to (possibly) above average game makes him a superstar, and definitely makes up for all those other insipid efforts he has put in during his career. Let's trade Riewoldt (who always slaughters the pies - and most other teams) for Fraser b/c he played ok in the 02 GF.

Not exactly hot for a number 1 pick.
His 2 x 3 votes this year came against Melbourne Rnd 2 and Essendon Rnd 14.
Gardiner and King both have 30 brownlow votes.
Gardiner was No1 pick in 1996 and King a compensatory No 3 early pick at the 1995 crop.
Both drafts were compromised by Port Adelaide and Fremantle zones.
I think McEvoy and Stanley should be our backup rucks until King and Gardiner are done.
They have both shown potential.
Stanley could be a great mobile ruckman and McEvoy could develop into more solid ruckman.
I'm not suggesting we should go for Fraser either, but I can come up with better reasons than the amount of brownlow votes he has received.
Corey Enright must be a dud b/c he didn't receive any brownlow votes this year.
I guess the point I am trying to make is that despite having had reasonable careers and been under the umpires noses, all 3 ruckman have not lived up to their top 3 selection like Riewoldt, Judd, & Cooney have.
I simply offer brownlow votes as the only independent and undisputable fact available.
I would rather use the only fact than get into an opinion squabble that can not be settled.

Nah, little johnny is refering to this years Grand Final. Josh stood up when they played the National Anthem. One of his better performances at the MCG actually.Moods wrote:Really? When was that? If we have to loose Bally, then thats a bloddy good deal for us, but not likelyTeflon wrote:where do I sign.Richter wrote:You're probably right (re Fraser as a ruckman).....
However, if the Ball rumour (to pies) is true, as well as Jolly to the pies from Sydney, then perhaps a 3-way with Port could be on the cards.....
Pies get: Ball
Saints get: Burgoyne
Port get: pick 16 (Saints), Fraser
-----------------
Except that reports have it that Burgoyne wants the Hawks or bust....
I love this club

Don't know how this quote of me now has me saying "You are a complete idiot". Harsh!!
Surely you are not comparing Riewoldt to Fraser. Not even in the same ballpark.

Ripped apart is ridiculous. While he wasn't a match winner, he still had an impact on the game, mostly drawing three defenders to himself. This allowed our smalls more space, which they unfortunately didn't capitalise on.Johnny Utah wrote:Kicked 3 goals in the 02 GF (3 / 8). Josh may have had a great game in the 2002 GF (its so long ago, I don't remember, so will take your word for it). Fact is, it didn't change the result. They still lost, as did we.

Better still, go back to playing 'hide-the-soap' with Joffa in the shower.
I'm sure nobody here appreciates your football intellect as much as your brethren at Collingfilth would.
The facts are that if you put Joshy on the trade table you'd have to include another player to sweeten the deal up for anybody to offer even a late 6th round draft pick in return.
