GT was a visionary.

Anyway my support is 100% behind Ross and the decisions made by them, as guided in his wisdom by his graciousness Teflon.

With the benefit of hindsight and a time machine, there are some other things I'd try before bringing in Brown.

This will probably answer if this is a worthwile pickup not....

Please feel free to continue
I can answer that - would Nathan Browne have ensured that Sneider, Milne kick straight?

AND had Nathan Browne played....would Sneider/Milne played or one gawn....

or...when Bartel shut down Hayes and Ling Dal Santo to 17 touches could we have used an additional midfielder that also kicks goals and frees up a Goddard?
That's not an answer, it's just more questions :D

spot on.

to be honest if we went that path IMO it smacks of absolute desperation.

NO other AFL club would entertain Browne....besides Im not sure he'd meet all the criteria in Icemans "Good Guide to Moral Values"handbook...

Would have taken Dempster's place...... who also missed a sitter than NB might have jagged. Also gives a LOT more offensively than Dempster in terms of disposals garnered, goals scored and goal assists...... question mark would clearly be over his ability to give forward pressure..... another Lyon "trademark".

Disagree. MG was very remorseful and showed a character that was redeeming and one which wanted to prove himself.

MG and BC were worlds - thousands and thousands of miles - apart and were chalk and cheese when it came to commitment to a team environment and making good for past indiscretions.

No hope in Nathan Browne playing Dempsters role GF day - fanciful.

Browne HAS NO defensive side to his game whatsoever and can play only 1 position - fwd.

So who goes out....Milne? Sneider? or we play 3 midgets?

Geelong didnt.

Neither would we.

True - but Gardiners a rare commodity - mobile, taslented ruckman who was what........27? when drafted?

Brownes 32, got a stuffed leg and has never been able to get anywhere near what he was prior to his horrific injury.

We aint comparing apples...

My biggest concern with Brown may actually be the dropping of the E.

Surely you mean Icman? :D

Re. Brown, I'd entertain playing 3 smalls. All 3 can rotate (particularly Brown and Schneider) through the midfield. Point is, IMO, we need someone who can actually HURT the opposition in the final available spot in the 22.

Only man from within who could conceivably do it is X Clarke, and he hasn't played consistently at the level required for over 12 months - be nearly 2 years by the time next season comes along.[/quote]

Brown at 32 can also play midfield?

Funny havent seen him in there much the past 3 yrs.

Nor Sneider for that matter.

Nup. Dreaming.

Geelong dropped a small...didnt add them...

NO WAY.

Hes finished IMO.

Very on himself and the fool shouldnt have left the Dogs folllowing the Tan Man.
Still can't believe we didn't pick up BC myself.

I reckon NB would pull his head in, train his arse off and burn for any club that would pick him up for a one-year deal, ala Stuie Dew.
Nah no need for a goal kicking in the GF..... leave it all to Lenny hey?

Brownes a spud.

"Dew dilligence"completed.
You just need to move on Teflon, it will do you good.

BC wasn't ours. And he won't be.

It's okay, you can do it. Take it easy.

Nite pal. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Nathan Brown

You've got to be kidding.

Just got home and saw this thread.

Yer, let's get rid of 25yo Matt Maguire and draft 32yo Nathan Brown.

Oh, did they have the same injury?

Got one thing to say, Go Storm!!

Lots of people work for SEN.

agree. we have some promising young players such as stanley, lynch. and steven among others who i'd like to see considered ahead of a veteran outsider such as brown.

What I understand it to be at this stage is that Browny has met with the club, and they sent him away for a medical to assess his various ailments before deciding whether to pursue him.

Brown is in LA at the minute with Richo and a couple of the other tigers so not sure what the result of that is.

It's a possibility, but a lot to happen and a lot of unknown factors.

Guy that told me that has had a lot to do with Nathan Brown.
