I'm sure our good club culture can turn "lost causes" like Fev around - not that there's anything wrong with the Fev.
If only our politicians/warmongers were bad for only 1 hour /year.

point taken............but how many marks or input would have Fev had in GF conditions......more then the 2 we hadspert wrote:Did you see how many entries into the forward 50 we had against Geelong yet kicked bugger all goals for that effort when the game should have been over at 3/4 time. A problem RL will be looking at on top of his list.

How many times more did the ball need to get in there last Saturday? Our forward entries aren't going to suddenly plummet.
Conditions last Saturday weren't good, granted, but our accuracy in front of goal hasn't been great this year. Even at the Dome.
Blokes who can kick straight from even limited chances are gold.

Good to have something else to focus on rather than last Saturday. A bit of light relief finally.
Be amazed if anything happened.
And Sydney don't have money after a couple of tough years. Would be a good fit for them though...Capper, Lockett, Hall.....FEV!! Makes sense from a marketing perspective, and he'd kick heaps at the SCG.

If the Swans are likely to get Seaby, then their rucks can be Jolly, Seaby, Goodes, they can afford to trade White for Fevola
Also they will be off-loading Hall, so they need another FF. Could end up being a 3-way deal with WB

If Fevola was contracted on $700,000 a year for the next 2 years, that would cost Carlton $1,050,000 against the salary cap because in 2011 he would be a veteran.
If he joins any other club it costs them $1,400,000 because although he would still qualify on age he would not have been at the new club for 10 years.
If Fevola wants to play at St Kilda he would need to take a half million pay cut per year unless Carlton were willing to absorb the remainder.
That would cost him about $2 million if he were to play for 4 more years.
Fevola needs to get down on his knees and convince Carlton he will reamain teetotal for the next 4 years.
I can not imagine Ross Lyon even looking at a player who applies no forward pressure and whose effort is non existent when things are not going his way.
Sorry Fev, you might support the Saints but you wont find any support here.
It is Sydney or the bush for you.

NO way. Kosi is more flexible can ruck or play forward, is a team player, is of good character and loyal ( taken less money to stay).
Fev is older, selfish, canonly play FF and a d**khead when he drinks.
As much as i trust RL and MD i believe it will be the beginning of the end if this was to happen.

Perhaps so...Mr Magic wrote:You've obviously forgotten the first 4 years he was at the Club and chosen to only remember the last 2.Thinline wrote:I prefer my key players on the field, mate.Mr Magic wrote:Are you serious?Thinline wrote: Besides we got f*** all out that other Carlton mercenary A Hamill.
Sammy Hamill was a fantastic player for us whose career was tragically cut short by serious injury.
He was a beacon to our young list in terms of mental adn physical toughness.
And why was he a mercenary?
My understanding is he was offered more to play with Sydney than what we offered.
Carlton also offered to pay him what he wanted but because of Salary Cap problems could only show about 40% of his salary on the books. That coupled with John Elliot's public slagging of him made it impossible for him to remain there.
He may have been a nice training buddy for a few of the younguns, but seriously, he was an expensive mistake in the end.
How many games did he win us?
I loved him when he was whacking people. Problem was he didn't do it anywhere near enough becasue his body fell to bits.
In hindsight, an error.

Why would they want to trade white? he'll be a gun forward and unlike Fev he'll be around for their next premiership tilt.MCG-Unit wrote:This.SainterK wrote:The only club that I can see trading for him is Sydney, they have heaps of $ for him, and I think they would even give up Jesse White for him....IMO

Apparently my great Indian sauce (White Crow) has contacted me and told me the Saints are seriously looking into a trade.
Players, dp's and a deal on the Salary.
Stay tuned.

we can use the services of the best fullforward - Fev's been kicking nearly 100 goals every year and that's Fev 99.999% of the time.
At least the other 0.001% of the time when he's being silly, he doesn't go around punching people out like Hall does.

Leigh Fisher and a third rounder.
Plus they pay half his first year, which is the last of his current contract.
See if he can get a defensive side.
And a disciplined side.
And pull his head in.
And it wont happen.
We pay Roo around the 750k.

Michael Gardiner came to the saints with a pretty horrid reputation. He became a great team man. He had bigger problems than being a drunken bore. Fev was a disgrace at the brownlow, no doubt and his sex toy antics are just potty humour at its worst. However, Fev may not have ever felt comfortable with all the hob nobs at carlton, being just a boy from narre warren. He may be more at home with our club and sometimes we all need a kick up the bum to realise that our actions are pretty embarrassing.
I'd have him, reckon our boys could actually be a good influence on him.
Oh and I reckon Mr Judd may have had a big say in Fev going. He doesnt like bad publicity, couldnt get away from West Coast quick enough remember.

Who's to say he won't accept a pay cut in order to play in a GF?
We'll soon find out because if he's after just money, he'll end up in Sydney. And if that's how he is... then they can have him.
on the other hand, if he did take a massive cut because he wants a flag, then that's a good enough signal for me, that we should get him.

If you were on the way down after losing some of ur best players from retirement with most of your other best players over or almost 30 would you trade your young forward for the next 10 years for someone who won't be around for your next premiership window?MCG-Unit wrote:Because IF the Swans want Fevola, they will have to give up something decent - for the Coleman medal winner of the last 2 yearsxander wrote:Why would they want to trade white? he'll be a gun forward and unlike Fev he'll be around for their next premiership tilt.MCG-Unit wrote:This.SainterK wrote:The only club that I can see trading for him is Sydney, they have heaps of $ for him, and I think they would even give up Jesse White for him....IMO

The choice between a guy who goes crazy when he is sober or a guy who goes crazy when he isn't sober.

Couldn't agree more. IF he is willing to take the pay cut, grab him at all costs! If he refuses to budge, move on. If he wants to play, he will have to take the cut as NO team will pay that much money for him with the exception of *perhaps* Sydney.Milton66 wrote:Who's to say he won't accept a pay cut in order to play in a GF?
