Milne is in the team to kick goals. When he doesn't do that, he should be dropped til his form in the 2s warrants re-selection. The problem with Milne is that when he is not kicking goals, he is doing very little else that is of benefit to the team.

I'm not sure why he is an automatic selection every week, but I hope Ross takes a good hard look at that policy and finds a solution.

Kosi I want to stay, I still think he can improve and perhaps at last live up to that number on the back of his jumper! Although I have to agree a true FF who kicks several each game would make our forward line scary and take 3 opponents off Roo in every contest.
Eagles said they want a zippy small forward if so who would you prefer, Staker or Nicoski?

the ones that seem to be in drain and ross's style are

lovett, everitt

more running backs would release raph and gilbo to play as tall marking wingers. Ross has always said that this is where he see's them long term.

lovett would be expensive but worth it as he has speed and skill.

The problem with the 6th forward is that they need to be more creative inside 50 and smart enough to find space to be hit up. Once again, I am disapointed ross didn't chance his hand by playing raph forward.

McKinley?

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

What would you want Ebert for , he goes missing like the one we have and he isnt the third marking forward we are looking for ,

He would fit into the same boat as the other options we have tried , Not good enough

And I'm offended that none of our players are deemed good enough for speculation.

Trades that I would like to see done:

- 1st Rounder (16) for Everitt.
- Ball and Maguire for Okeefe (possible 3 way trade with Carlton/Essendon).
- 2nd Rounder (32) for Gamble.

So from the Grand final team, these should be the changes for 2010:

In: Okeefe, Everitt, Armitage, Gamble, McEvoy
Out: Dempster, Clarke, Ball, Milne, King

Hate to get rid of Ball and Goose, but you have to give quality to get quality. Not sure it would be enough for Okeefe, but who knows. Milne could still make the team, he would just have to fight it out with Gamble, McQualter and Schnieder.
These trades probably won't happen, but I'm just having some fun.

So the team for 2010 would be:

B: Baker Dawson Blake
HB: Everitt Fisher Gilbert
C: Montagna Goddard Dal Santo
HF: Okeefe Riewoldt Sneider
F: Gamble Kosi McQualter
FOLL: Gardiner Hayes Jones
Inter: McEvoy Gram Armitage Ray

With Milne, Steven, Geary, the Clarkes, Dempster, Eddy, Lynch and Heyne all pushing for spots.

I like adventurous posts when it comes to possible teams for the next season and you have definitely gone out on a limb here with this team....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
