I am still in shock myself, I am sure that feeling will hit anytime soon :(

And then finding out your children aren't really yours but you still love them.
Love you Saints

Yep. It's a grief that's got it's own life inside me. I can't pretend otherwise. Have been avoiding letting myself feel the pain, but it's there. Didn't sleep last night, couldn't give a rats arse about anything. Will take time.

We were at the game yesterday all 4 kids and husband , they were shattered and disappointed.
Today they went and visited their Pa who is in intensive care next to their Pa was a young girl about 22 who passed away right next to them this morning.
Came home and said lets take a big breath love my footy and was shattered but lets put it into perspective.
Got in the lift saw a family in Geelong jumpers said congratulations on a great win they told them didnt get to game as on the way down to the MCG they had a car accident and a member of their family is in there with serios injuries wished them all the best.
He wore his saints scarf to the hospital as he was proud of his club.
Love my footy love the saints but there is next year.

Now for the rest of eternity when we hear about theis great Geelong team we'll remember this year and this grand final and think, "we could've put a stop to that".

Hollow and wrenching. Today was an awful day. Couldn't leave Melbourne sooner.

Yes, perspective is required, but there is no doubt that the bottom of the gut sick feeling of knowing we lost when we shouldn't have will resonate for some time.

And we are just supporters.

Spare a thought for the players who sweat blood for that moment.

They need to be made of stern stuff.

But they will rise once more. We have beauty in our captain and we have a true leader in our coach. Our time will come.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Now that's a dog of a weekend barks.

Strangely, I actually commenced my 2010 season on GF night in more than one way.

So my crappy day turned in to a surprisingly fantastic night. Isn't it ironic, Alanis.

Thanks for rescuing me from my despair, kitten (you know who you are)xx

Sorry to hear, Pat.

Hey, sorry that your first GF didn't pan out. I took this one better than 97, for reasons I don't really know. That doesn't mean I am not shattered but like you and many other I think this is not the last we will see of this team in this era. If Geel can come back after 2008, we can come back after 2009.

Went to bed at 10.40, still tossing and turning at 4.30. Decided to take things into my own hands per se. Couldn't even maintain a, well you know.
