I agree, we knew roo was going to get allot of attention so that was to be expected, look how many times the ball went inside our 50 and how many chances we had to score particularly in the first half. that was the problem.

can't agree with that.Griggsy wrote:WHY WE LOST? TOO MUCH DEPENDENCE ON ROO.

Geelong stopped his 3-4 goals, and therefore stopped the saints. The others had chances to compensate but did not come up with the goods.
Saint Nick can not do it all.
Apart from that we did well, our defence held given the pressure, apart from a few hiccups and close calls. Our Mids were getting the ball forward.
We created more than enough opportunity for other forwards today.
Missing real chances at goal is what cost us.
I'm just gutted here.
Anyhoo
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
Well thats my point. Noone took advantage of their opportunities to fill that void. Im talking more in general not just the game. It was the extra goals that Roo would normally of had that would have the win. So we needed the 3 to come from elsewhere.bigred wrote:can't agree with that.Griggsy wrote:WHY WE LOST? The Saints lost because they kicked more inaccurately than their opponents.
All the other reasons you dream up are merely possibilities to have overcome the real reason.
The Saints lost on the scoreboard and that is what counts but the Saints won the play.
The truth is Geelong have a more talented list than St Kilda but St Kilda are better coached to play as a team.
St Kilda has many mediocre players who combine well as a team but who occasionally make horrific individual clangers.
Some teams are more accurate at kicking for goal than others, but the variation from game to game is even greater.
This means that if this game were replayed St Kilda could easily be the winner.
There is no reason to panic but increasing the talent at St Kilda could narrow the advantage that Geelong has in this area.
