I'll be there with the family.
Hopefully to celebrate a win.
In 97 I went back to Linton St about 10pm with a few mates.
There was a few hundred people gathered on the oval, in front of a heap of empty food and refreshment tents.
The atmosphere was about as flat as it gets.
We basically just stood there in silence.
Eventually the players arrived on a stage at the Huggins and were introduced to supportive (if not rapturous) applause.
Was always glad I went there as it helped me cope with the loss.
The Sunday was also pretty depressing.
But a lot more people.
It is somewhat reassuring to be amongst others who are sharing the same pain.
It will be even better to share unbridled joy with others experiencing the same.
Just wish it was at Moorabbin and not that Jihad Collodome.
Hopefully to celebrate a win.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

I had a moment of misguided belief that I should stay away because the players would not want to have to face the masses tomorrow.saintbrat wrote:the TEAM will be ther So we WILL be there

Thankfully I was quickly put right in another thread. Never a doubt that I would want to support the boys and say thanks, just had a clouded and skewed perspective.
I have family commitments that I might not be able to get out of tomorrow, but if I CAN be there, I WILL be there.
