Tickettek Stuff up with granny tickets. Incorrect charges.
Just got this text from the club.
September Saint ticket collection is temporarily suspended. Check saints.com.au for details on when ticket collection will be available.
Wonder whats going on I have my ticket but no money taken out yet, so I reckon someone has stuffed up.

Apparantly people have gone to pickup their tickets and they are not there!!!!
A problem between ticketmaster and tickettek has occured apparantly some the credit card numbers have been mied up amongst ballot winners (and maybe ballot loses as well). It appears this has happened to me as well.
I said they would stuff up last thursday
on the phone now to tickettek, to get my account charged correctly, (so they can't reneg on the ticket).

from the website
I am led to believe some sept saints have had tickets amount deducted from their accounts, and have not/will not receive tickets as they were unsuccessfull in the ballot.
That would suck if I had the money taken out yesterday and I thought I was in, and get told today you are not....
During the registration process with Ticketmaster for St Kilda members last week, it has become apparent that as many as 700 members have since been incorrectly charged.

I went down at 12:00 to pick them up.
The guy started asking me "Are you sure you used this credit card?"
"What is you phone number?" "How about your home number - would you have used that?"
Then he got on the phone to his operations centre and then repeated the same questions to me again.
Meanwhile in the next queue all these people are showing their ID and walking off with fistfuls of tickets.
My bloodpressure was going through the roof and I was literally perspiring.
In the end he said someone would ring me back.
Rang the club and they said there might be some issues between transferring the info from Ticketmanster to Ticketek.
Told me not to stress and as long as we were successful we should be OK.
So I have saved the Successful database in case I need to take out a high court injunction.
Now I see the SMS and e-mail saying it is a total stuff up.
So much for technology.
Why not go back to the old system of queuing up for a "real" piece of cardboard.
This week is stressful enough without this !!!

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Weird Ticket Issues
I was charged for three tickets when we only registered for two. I have been listed as successful in the ballot but I do know that when I rang TICKETEK yesterday they told me that I had three tickets allocated to me (I only registered for two!!!!) but the name against my mastercard wasn't mine!!!!WCFCHobart wrote:But now I have a great hard luck story!
I've been a Saints member for longer than I've been an Australian, and I've been charged NOT to get a ticket!
(I know I'll get a refund)
( and I do expect that I've been unsuccessful in getting a ticket. But SAINTS ARE IN THE GRAND FINAL! Woohoo!)
Go figure.
Ticketek did say that it is ultimately the presenter of the mastercard (which is me) that gets the tickets and I'm listed as successful so we are officially in our hotel room celebrating (my ten year old son shed a tear as did I... though we're all a little weary and emotional after setting out from the GC at 4.00am this morning...are we there yet started at Goondiwindi)
In some ways I'm glad I'm stuck driving down from the GC and couldn't get my tickets today. Hope it's settled by the morning, we'll be coming through Albury at lunchtime where there is a TICKETEK outlet.
I hate to say it but this whole ticketing debacle for me represents what a great roller coaster ride it is being a dedicated Sainter. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I remember in 97 after the Prelim going to several pubs in Swan St singing the song etc., it suddenly dawned on me that we needed to get GF tickets.
Rushed back to Moorabbin at around 12:30am and was issued ticket number two thousand and something in the Social Club queue.
Then turned up at 4am on whatever day to pick up my real tickets.
Perfectly good system.
Everyone understood it.
Why have this stupid system where the club outsources the ballot system to one company Ticketmaster, who then interfaces with StKilda and then is expected to provide integrated data to another company Ticketek to issue them.
Ridiculous.
A recipe for disaster.
I won't be happy till I have the tickets in my hand.
And what about the poor blighters that copped the "you have been unsuccessful: in the ballot devastation and then to add insult to devastation had their account debited for the privilege of missing out.
The whole thing is a very poorly managed fiasco.

Despite what I wrote above I gotta agree. It has been hard concentrating on anything else for the last few days and I'll still be nervous until I have the tickets in my hand.Enrico_Misso wrote:I remember in 97 after the Prelim going to several pubs in Swan St singing the song etc., it suddenly dawned on me that we needed to get GF tickets.

I had a very similar scenario up here on the Sunshine Coast ticketek outlet, and I also was starting to get very stressed. Fortunately for me they managed to sort it all out, and I came away with a hot little ticket in my hand. I'm sure it will all work out, but its the last thing we all need.

Anyone know why registration was through Ticketmaster and distribution is through Ticketek? My partner's a filthy Collingwood supporter and he registered through Ticketek (and obviously would've gotten a ticket through Ticketek had they won).
Seems odd that our registration wasn't through Ticketek as well, would've made more sense (and avoided the problems they're having today!)
