Who will you be thinking of this week?
Ah, the day after the night before...
As thoughts turn to next Saturday I'll be thinking of..,
My dad, who was there in 66. He loved the Saints and of the many things he did for me in life, getting me to follow the Saints is one i am eternally indebted to him for.
I'll be thinking of all those years at school when we were a cellar dwellar. Being the only Saints supporter through the 70's and 80's bought its fair share of ridicule.
I'll be thinking of my mum and brother sitting beside me.
I'll be thinking of those idiots Brereton and Sheehan, and how they'll have to eat a big serving of humble pie on Saturday night.
I'll be thinking of Nick Riewoldt, and whether he can take us to the promised land.
I'll be thinking of the 22 players who have the opportunity to create history.
I'll be thinking of Max Hudghton, a great servant of this club over many years
But I'll mainly be thinking of us, the supporters. the rank and file, the men and women, the old and young, who have waited for this day. Who are putting their lives and everything that goes with it on hold for 7 days. the true believers who have a date with destiny. Its our time.
Enjoy the week

Yes it is not just about winning for the playing group.
It is about rewarding the thousands of faithful supporters who have suffered long.
Will I enjoy the week ?
NO
I think it is going to be the week from hell.
I will only start to enjoy it after we win.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Read every newspaper and watch every footy tv show. You will look back and kick yourself if you dont savour it.
Look at the Bulldogs. They haven't seen their team in a Grand Final since 1961.
If I thought about the game too much I'd be a nervous wreck. Actually who am I kidding. I will be a nervous wreck.
However because none of us know how things are going to turn out on Saturday so why not soak in everything the week has to offer. We're not players, we don't have to remain 100% focused on the game. Read the papers, watch TV, go to training on Tuesday, catch the parade on Friday. It's our week.
