Post: # 820182Post perfectionist »

From the Saints website:

Jarryd Allen - Retired
Paul Cahill - Broken ankle, indefinite
Xavier Clarke - ACL, indefinite
Michael Gardiner - Hamstring soreness, to be assessed
Matt Maguire - Hamstring strain, to be assessed

Also, there will be no open training session this week.

King & McEvoy can take on Hudson & Minson.

However, Gardiner would leave a big hole to fill as he is the most mobile of those big men.

Well I'd rather have him in the GF than the PF, but that'll be 3 weeks without footy for the big fella...

Lets hope he's all good.

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if he was named and then withdrawn considering it is a big final. If he is injured that is...

If there's one thing i've been the most impressed with this season, its the game plan and attitude of the players towards each game. No player cannot be covered and we can win regardless.

Sure, Gardiner is a very good player and has been an asset, but I am 100% sure we can win with or without him.

GO SAINTERS

DO we really believe that the 'injury report' which nobody has believed all season is now going to tell our opposition the truth?
If Gardi was 'under an injury cloud' and doubtfull to play, do we really believe the Club would be telling everybody?

What would be the point in naming him and then withdrawing him at the last second - everybody would now be expecting this scenario so there would be no 'advantage' to us.

I think it's more likely that he's perfectly ok and the Club are just trying to 'mess with the Bulldogs heads' a little?

Wouldn't think there is anything to worry about.

But gee, would be a huge out.

Don't underestimate his importance to our midfield.

agree. we're a very versatile outfit and, unlike in the past, haven't been overly reliant on just a few to win us games.

if we can win the midfield, or at least break even, on friday night we should prevail as i reckon our forward line and defence is better than theirs.

absolutely. i remember in the past thinking if harveys out... we're gone. gehrig out.... all over. hamill out.... that's it.

this year has really changed my way of thinking.

obviously if we lost riewoldt, he is impossible to cover, but i honestly think we can still win no matter what.

and i think the players have this belief also.

rooey would be a hard one to cover, but we have won quite a few matches this season without a significant contribution from him.

Gardiner will play.

Source: the fact that there has been no talk, speculation, media report or even innuendo on any website, print media publication or blog about him being injured.

These things always get out, and we have a number of sources here who are aware when there is doubt on a player.

Nothing has been reported about Gardiner in the slightest, and at the training session last week he looked good.

He'll play.

My club source says everyone is A-OK.

And personally, I think we just sent in the same list as for the Collingwood game.

Couldn't help noticing ice on Gardi's hamstring in the 'behind the scenes'photos in the rooms after the collingwood game. Probably can't read too much in to it. There was ice on practically everyone.
