I am pretty sure it will have zero effect.
you are a fair dinkum robot and have no understanding of human nature.
Do you think anyone on the Saints side will play better because Gilbert isnt picked in the AA team. If you do you have no understanding of players.
gilbert & goddard for starters will have that little extra motivation - if you don't know that you've oblviously never played sport at any level - and no wonder - you haven't that strong competitive desire to be the best - so don't comment on what you don't understand.
now watch the consolation and excuse as we get some mids in there!
So if they were going to motivated by AA selection, which as plugger66 says is pretty unlikely...surely NOT getting selected would be just as big a motivating facotor, prove a few people wrong maybe?

I reckon a GF berth might just tip out every other other motivating factor come Friday night..

Anyone know where Leigh Montagna is from. Pretty sure that they said he is the first AA from Kerang? But not sure. INterested to know because my fiance is from that area and I'd be happy to hear that.

Well done Joey and Lenny!

Don't worry BJ, you'll be on the bench. Gilbo deserves a spot on the bench too but I don't expect him to get on. Dal? maybe.

Would you be upset if she had a fling with young Monty before she met you?

exactly saint66 - it's the desire to prove themselves to themselves and a gauge on that is recognition and success - and the best recognition is to win the GF, the other is just a little extra motivator. it's basic psychology and a common trait amongst competitive sportspersons. you don't think ablett was that little bit extra motivated after the brownlow last year.

In case anyone one missed it... our players are all about team ethos this year. AA means nothing compared to winning a GF, which is what these boys are about.

When Dal and BJ either win on nearly win the Brownlow, or lose it to Roo, those politically biassed selectors can stick it up their clacker. Fuming that Goodwin and Bolton make the defence ahead of Sam and not one player in the best defence that has ever played, according to David Parkin, has made the team.

I am pissed off big time. Time to show these mongrels that a champion team will beat a team of champions.

Saints would beat the All Australian team.

At least those bahsteds (sic) at the selection committee got their token South Australian and NSW players in.

His dad went to St. Joseph's North Fitzroy, his mum went to Santa Maria in Northcote.

I'm guessing he didn't grow up a Saints fan.

Mike Sheahan seemed to have a good guess, unlike all the other HS "experts".

You know, I don't care about these individual awards, they mean squat.
Let the Abletts and these guys win their individual medals etc, I want the team award, the one where you get a big silver cup and all the players get medallions.
Nothing else matters.
