Sure he has Riewoldt, Dal Santo, Montagna & Hayes in the team.....

But.....we have one of the best defensive units ever, yet not 1 St Kilda player makes it into his backline?

Goddard is a lock, yet only Sheehan failed to select him.

Isnt it funny how anyone who doesnt fawn all over St Kilda is automatically a tool??

It's a tough exercise which is always going to create arguments. You've got players who get pushed out every year because the selectors can't decide between two fullbacks, so they select both. They'll select three key forwards even though nobody plays three key forwards.

I can't believe Sheehan didn't pick Gilbert, but he wasn't alone. I'm sure he'll be in the final team. Fisher didn't even get short-listed for the AA team. None of our other defenders were even on the radar.

Here's my team if anyone's wondering. I'm sure plenty would disagree with my selections and non-selections.

B: Josh Drummond - Brian Lake - Nick Maxwell
HB: Corey Enright - Sam Fisher - Sam Gilbert
C: Leigh Montagna - Chris Judd - Marc Murphy
HF: Leon Davis - Nick Riewoldt - Brad Johnson

OB: Aaron Sandilands - Dane Swan - Gary Ablett

IC: Paul Chapman - Mitch Clark - Brendon Goddard - Lenny Hayes

In the first 6 games he only picked us to win once , slow learner hey. Picked us to be the big sliders of 2009 I rest my case .He's your typical journo that loves the sound of his own voice & when one on one with a coach player he is the suck hole from hell.

I think in 91 Hawthorn had NO AA players.

you could argue they had the second best CHF, the second best FF, the second best CHB, the second best FB, etc etc.

It is contentious, bordering on incomprehensible.

While I had Bolton in my team, I also had Goddard and teammate Sam Gilbert in the starting 18.

I think that the OP link merely tallies up the "SuperStar" votes and fills out a team from them.... presumably from the ranking that they gave the players in matches they saw/commented on during the year.

Only explanation that I can think of...... besides the obvious that is......
