So why do you think that MB ridiculed Lyon so much?
Because up to the North game last year RL failed with the team.

But at quarter time against North when he said f*** it attack the bloke with the ball and then zone off we are superstars since. And we deserve it.

No. But then that is your opinion.

Mine is that Lyon has been steadily working at improving our deficiencies.

Lyon has kept evolving both the team..and the gameplan.

He has kept chipping away at all aspects...till we have the team we have today. Therir have been many steps in this...dropping Dal and Milne...recruiting Ray and others...devloping our rookies...etc etc..

He will have to keep evolving too as the opposition will react againsts our full field press.

Yes we all know that you are itching to have Lyon sacked Rodge...and that you have been gunning for him for a while.

It is interesting reading your past report card on him.

He is recruiting average/poor players.

His game plan doesn't win games.

He doesn't get his message through to the players.

He isn't get the best out of the good players.

There is no improvement in average players.

He is arrogant in the media and with journalists.

He can't retain assistant coaches.

He can't win games when our stars don't dominate the game.

He isn't developing kids.
mmmm now lets see how much of the above has been spot on Rodge?

He is recruiting average/poor players.

* Gardi, King, Schneider, Ray, Zac, Dempster.....?

His game plan doesn't win games.

* Ooops... I think that may have just been the 4th best H&A season in history

He doesn't get his message through to the players.

* Well yes he had to undo a lot of downhill skier type thinking....but plugging awy at it Dal. Milne etc are now all on board.

He isn't get the best out of the good players.

* Ball is about the only one. Even Roo has been made into a better player. He never used to tackle, chase etc like he does now etc..

There is no improvement in average players.

* Oooops..now that is just downright embarrassing...

He is arrogant in the media and with journalists.

* And the relevance of this is??? However funning thing is now the journos actually :get" what he is saying now.

He can't retain assistant coaches.

* When did SOS leave???? Obviously a shocking move to gain Tudor

He can't win games when our stars don't dominate the game.

* err note the Hawks game

He isn't developing kids.

* Yes he is...it is just with the brilliant trading that Lyon and Drain have done that we have not had to rush youngsters into the seniors.

On the Internet and in text messaging
The ellipsis is one of the favorite constructions of internet chat rooms, and has evolved over the past ten years into a staple of text-messaging. Though an ellipsis is technically complete with three periods (...), its rise in popularity as a "trailing-off" or "silence" indicator, particularly in mid-20th century comic strip and comic book prose writing, has led to expanded uses online. It has been used in new ways online, sometimes at the end of a message "to signal that the rest of the message is forthcoming." [5]

Today, extended ellipsis of seven, ten, or even dozens of periods have become common constructions in internet chat rooms and text messages.[6]

"Elliptical commas", or, commas used in plurality for the effect of ellipsis or multiple ellipsis, have also grown in popularity online—though no style journal or manual has yet embraced them.[6]

although i use em as a break/pause between differing comments on similar subject matter

1/ Conversations and threads do evolve....so not eveything needs to be directly on the OP

2/ Yes GT is in the media and as such is free to comment of AFL coaches...and players.

However just because he is free to comment it does not mean that we are not free to consider his comments and to then make our own opinions on his comments.

I particularly liked his comment on Lyon at the start of this year...you know the one where GT stated that Lyon did not have what it took to be a coach and GT knew this because he use to play with Lyon. = Wrong

Or last seasons pre-season pearler where GT backed up Brereton's comments by saying that he GT had "seen the signs" of Banger being passed it. = Wrong as Banger had a very good year.

Now not all GT's comments are wrong, but my conclusion is that he is one of the least knowledgeable and incisive "expert" commentators in the media.

I totally disagree but if you can only come up with only 2 after the many he has said then he must know a bit. Your hatred for anything Gt is now bordering on obsessive. maybe you should go and get it checked out or we may win a flag and all you will be thinking of is GT.

So what abouts...no dots (strops) as in yours ...

there's something going on here , but for the life of me its gone way over my head :?
I'm a straight shaving newbie, and for me the biggest part of learning how to straight shave is stropping properly. Stropping seems to account for 90% of my thoughts in this learning process. It's something mysterious, and isn't exactly all that intuitive.

Anywho, I'm one of those people that once they lie their heads down to sleep their mind starts running. I usually start to think about whatever has been on my mind recently, and stropping has been on my mind these past two weeks. So lately as I'm try to drift off into sleep I start to think about my stropping technique. This goes into this image of stropping. Back and forth, back and forth. With that nice stropping sound. Before I now it, I'm asleep.

So, for you gentleman, I have invented a new way of getting you to fall asleep. Unlike counting sheep, it actually works. Just image yourself stropping, and that sweet rhythm will put you to rest.

P.S. I enjoy stropping.

'stopping' led to sake , which led to ...shochu

The two most popular types are 'mugi' (made from barley) and 'imo' (made from potatoes). Usually about 25% alcohol it's usually had straight or mixed with water

look out for 'life tip' in this quote ... you soon to be celebrators
Having spent considerable time in Korea, I have had the Soju experience on a number of occassions. Back then, moderation was not my forte but it was quite an enjoyable drink that packed quite a wollop. A very odd alcohol experience. First off, you can't taste the alcohol. Unlike like most intoxicants, the first reaction is one of totally being wired (i.e. I just chugged a case of Red Bull and ate a box of No Doz). After that's over with (it lasts an hour or two) then suddenly without warning, the alcohol just kicks you in the man parts and you're drooling on your shoes, aren't real sure where you are, and develop tunnel vision.

The hangover from this stuff is absolutely horrendous and unmatched anywhere in my drinking career. Amongst GIs in Korea it is affectionately known as "Soju Confused". Tasks you've mindlessly accomplished since childhood (i.e. tying shoes) become very confusing and take a minute to figure out the morning after. Bacchus D a Korean Herbal Energy drink with massive quantites of vitamin B-12 is good to have on hand to combat the effects. In fact, this mana from heaven will literally pull you out of a ghastly state of intoxication in short order.

can't recall the exact name for it, but the ... (yes 3 are correct) is like a writen pause that segues into another comment or question.

And I'll tell you why it works in a moment.

But before I do, I also recall GT saying that when he knew Lyon as a player, he did not believe he had a strong enough personality to become a coach... or words to that extent. Apart from being wrong, he must have an ego the size of Grand Canyon for actually believing that he can tell who can coach or not. It's little wonder, therefore, that he ever stepped aside, given that according to him, he didn't think anyone was better suited than himself.

But I do digress...

Reincarnated praises Milton66 due to the creation of a thread that is reaching Reincarnated-like heights of posting...

And you forget to add "stupidity" at the end.

So what was I talking about at the top of this post?

Oh yeah, I was going to tell you "more about this later"...

What was I referring to? Trick comment.

Once again, I cannot recall the guy's name, but a Russian psychologist defined this as great way to keep people reading your material. Why? Because humans need closure... or they "need to know".

So if you use a phrase like "I'm about to explain why GT is a cabbage. But before I do that, I'd just like to mention...".

So what I've done is open a loop, or left you with an unfinushed explanation.

Therefore, if there is a message I want you to absorb, I put it after the opening.

And because the GT worshippers will be dying to know why I think GT is a cabbage, they are lore likely to read the entire post, in order to have closure on my openng statement.

Make sense? Probably not.

Anyway, that's today's sales copy lesson for ya...
