"Sore Boys"

Post: # 816942Post rodgerfox »

Heard Riewoldt say this after the game in reference to earning the week off.

Something along the lines of 'yeah, it's great to get the week off cause there's some sore boys who'll need it'.

Didn't think that much of it as it's usually a throw away line.

But then Lenny was interviewed and he said it again. He said it quite seriously.

Who's sore? And why? What do they mean by sore? How sore??

Surely the Melbourne game didn't hurt too much. Especially after most of them getting a breather over the month prior.

Surely they weren't 'sore' and needed a week off after beating Collingwood.

Am I looking into this too much? Or are we perhaps not as healthy as we all thought?

saints game plan is one of the hardest working game plans in the competition.

towards the end of the midseason break we were looking weary, and again towards the end of the main season.

that said IMO the coaching staff have made us one of the fittest sides in the competition.

if they get the mix right we will be really fresh for whoever comes out of the semi's.

Zac Dawson had a corked hip from Saturday's game, and someone else was mentioned having a corkie, I think maybe Schneider??

This was from the injury wrap on Triple M footy post-match.

And Sam Gilbert looked like he dislocated a finger in the 2nd quarter, then copped another whack on it later in the game

Hopefully this sort of thing was all the boys were talking about.

Sore-boys means boys carrying injuries of some sort, but you don't want to give a way too much to the media

They possibly are sore but if they are repeating that statement to the media then they probably aren't!

If it was a worry you can be assured we would not know about it!

Anyone who even just exercises regularly and moderately knows that being sore is almost a constant state... how much more so for an AFL player at the end of the season?

Ever played a game of footy, rodger?

My son can barely walk on mondays, and he's only playing u14s.

A season of AFL would be pretty tough on even the finest athlete.

Looks like the pies are feeling a little more sore than us:

Out: Dayne Beams (calf), Josh Fraser (knee), Scott Pendlebury (cracked fibula), Anthony Rocca (ankle), John McCarthy
