Whatever was said to him over the summer break has turned him into a vital cog in our premiership aspirations. He is almost at the stage where opposition clubs in the finals need to consider doing something to curb his influence on the game.
Yesterday he took care of Heaf Shaw and won plenty of the footy himself. PLUS
his 'frontal pressure' had the Pies players expecting contact whenever they got the ball.

The way he backed his true goal kicking talent to eschew the banana and just drill one through the eye of the needle.
The boy has well and truly arrived now.
Brilliant game.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

i reckon it's partly about motivation and partly about position. the fact that defensive forward is now a permanent and important position really helps him, as it's a great fit for his work ethic and talents. he's never going to get 30 touches a game in the midfield, but playing across half-forward he can get 15-20 and be more than useful - as well as 5-10 tackles.Mr Magic wrote:Whatever was said to him over the summer break has turned him into a vital cog in our premiership aspirations.
