Was it that good a win?

Post: # 813215Post thecroc »

Was Cloke the highest kick getter at 11? If that's the case then yeah, have a good cheer and all that, but we're still no where near our best if Cloke was up there at the top. We should've crushed them but couldn't. Sorry folks - still not happy.

Cheers.

If Cloke gets their big stats, I'm happy.

Hell yes.

Pies had 5 players who had 10 kicks or more. Pfffft.

Bye Pies.

That they flooded from the ten minute mark of the 2nd. quarter, virtually conceding they had little or no answer means

Hell yeah, it was bloody great!

Mmm let's see...

Beat a team that finished fourth after winning 12 of their past 14, apparently in form and we weren't.

In a Prelim with a weeks rest

Avoided the Cats and Crows, otherwise known as the Semi & Prelim of Death

No injuries, a fortnight to get over any niggles and fine tune our ball movement through the middle and into the F50

Our guns flexing their muscles and getting some much needed finals confidence

Yeah...it's soooo good!!!

Just b/c it wasn't reflected on the scorebaord, shouldn't lessen the victory. Make no mistake, we SMASHED em. THe pies didn't look like scoring, in fact they had trouble getting their hands on it. THe stats at the breaks told the story. WE dominated possession, and the game appeared to being played in our fwd line after 1/4 time.

So in answer to your question - yes, it was that good a win.

At our peak during the home and away season 2009 we made decent sides look absolutely shyte.

We made the Filth look absolutely shyte yesterday.

We commanded the game for three quarters.

In a final, to win like that, I'll take it every time.

One of the more crucial wins for the club in the past twenty years.
Make no mistake, that was a very big game to win.

IMO we should just give away now

No the OP is correct.

We didn't run it out and % could be a big decider in finals.

but if we dominated possession then why couldn't we score more?
is that RLs's game plan - not to kick to a contest - when he should already know that we have the cattle to take them on after half time?

I call it "handbrake footy" - Adelaide got rid of it - we should too

thanks for your thoughts (and humour)

cheers

Once again we got the job done.
We kept them to 7 goals ffs.
Once again we snuffed out a "challenger" that the media has talked up.
(just like Crows , Bulldogs 2nd time around)

It was another great win.

Isn't the point of the match to win?

Percentage plays no part. If you're not happy with that stick your head in the sand for the next 3 weeks.

Another opportunity awaits!
