Robert Harvey
I know he's with the Blue-Baggers now, but deep inside I feel that he needs to speak with our players regarding this year's final campaign! 'This' could be Robert's finest moment...
I've been watching the 2008 Brownlow tribute, thanks to Ausfatcat, as seen here;
and here;
I feel Luke Ball drew inspiration from Robert Harvey for one, and I feel the whole team could only benefit from his presence during the finals...
So who knows, maybe he will make an appearance after the blues have been knocked out......

Re: Robert Harvey
Geez I hope he does turn up. I hope Conner turns out to be a player too..houseofvictor wrote:I know he's with the Blue-Baggers now, but deep inside I feel that he needs to speak with our players regarding this year's final campaign! 'This' could be Robert's finest moment...

Wonder why he didn't do a jumper hand over...

It would be unprofessional for a contracted assistant coah to address our players during a finals campaign IMO.
If they need 35 to get motivated, then we're screwed. I mean seriously, if his efforts over the last 20 odd years didn't work, what makes you think a speech will?

Not only unprofessional - but as if the blues would allow it? We could potentially play the blues in the finals, so I'm not sure they would be all that keen that a paid employee of their club was addressing the opposition. I know I wouldn't be all that impressed if SOS addressed Carlton before the finals.ohwhenthesaints! wrote:Agree with this entirely...Milton66 wrote:It would be unprofessional for a contracted assistant coah to address our players during a finals campaign IMO.

UNBELIEVABLE!! to even contemplate such a desperate measure!!!!!!!!
No one loved the great man more than I but how have we gone so far this year without him? Let the guy get on with his own life He has gone! and while he continues to be employed by one of our opponents he is just another assistant coach as far as I'm concerned in 2009

id rather have Barks wheeled into the rooms...i bet you a million bucks that would fire a few up if HE spoke from the heart. (noooo, not the barks in here )
harvey is gone, move on... for an opp assistant/midfield coach to address our side no mater who it is, is rather silly
he has no ties with the club during this year...the year we are dominating
we all love him, but this has nothing to do with harvey
as sad as that is

Like everyone I would love Harves to come back to the club in some capacity at some point in time.
But he is not there now.
He has moved on.
Time we all moved on.
(Though I must admit as we do our lap of honour on Sep 26th I will spend a moment considering Harves' unfortunate timing).
