so if we have not changed the trianing, why have the saints not played well?
and will or can the saints just change the way they play and suddenly 'turn it on'????
We arent playing well because we cant get the contested ball and i would suggest that has little to do with training. Plenty to do with attitude.
so if it is attitude?
can it just be changed? or will we all be crying ? if the saints can't change the attitiude of its players. and anywyay why would you have bad attitidue when you are gong to play finals in 2 weeks?

It will or should change because they are finals games. We have had little incentive for the last 4 to 5 weeks and in that time our only good game was when young guys came in to show their wares.

Plugger do you know that for a fact that they aren't tapering? I'm not being a smart arse I'm just curious?
If it is attitude, I'm concerned.
And Sydney under Misson were never in a position where they had sewn up a top 4 spot with 6-7 weeks to go....

Yes he did and that was the week before the Sydney game from memory...if we are tapering the last month makes sense.
As I said the guys who missed over the last 3 weeks have been able to train on the Monday because they dont have to recover from a game. It get their fitness up but they havent done extra on the other nights so there is no need to taper.

Follow the players into the gym too do ya?
Maybe Roo was lying?
You also said it wasn't Allen retiring.
Of course when you're the bloke who sweeps up the chunks of turf that fall out from between the stops...

Of course if you were going to ramp up training you would do it in the gym. That will help a lot. Rooy training was ramped up as was a few others who didnt play for a week but every other session has been normal. Unlike you who has never made an error I got the Allen retirement wrong but as I said once in 3 years is only once worse than you.

I dont profess to have access to the inner sanctum... you do.
It's not like you said 'I dont think it's Allen'.... just as in this case you act as if you have copies of all the player's training files (and those of the swan's from 2005 apparently).
Maybe your wife/daughter works in admin or something at the club, but I'm certain you dont have the unlimited access and intimate knowledge that you like to make out you do....
And are you saying the players dont train in the gym?
Or that ramping up training in the gym would have no impact?
I'm tipping it's been decades since you could even touch your toes, let alone seen the inside of a gym.
And like the rest of us, you wouldn't know for sure if they are tapering or not.
It has been patently obvious that the players are under some type of heavy training load as players have been cramping up in the last quarters over the past 2-3 weeks, whereas earlier in the year they would finish games very strongly. My bet is that training this week has been distinctly light and I would expect that no-one will be cramping up in the last Q on Sunday. They have been trained to be at optimum fitness for next week onwards.
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Logic would tell you that is most likely the case.... plugger66 tells you otherwise.
Sorry if this has already been posted but checkout this podcast from SEN.
Dean Laidley on the run home last night in his preview of the saints and collingwood game spoke about the saints increased training loads. Mentioned according to his info that the dogs lightened off two weeks ago with the saints lightening off a week later. E.g, leading up to the dees game.
