Im guessing Armo comes out, unless he keeps getting 20+ touches....who else is the unlucky bastard?
or CJ doesn't come back in
or Dempster misses: probably least likely, but possible

CJ is a "first pick" player these days, has been huge this year.

I don't really buy into the whole speed factor. It's no good if you cant win the contested ball. Dempster will get a tagging roll this week, on one of Watson, Lovett or maybe even Stanton(doubt it though).Teflon wrote:speed is an issue here against Bombers....Jones gives us some of that. Gonna be interesting.

Me either to be honest but its been the Bombers pace and 'take us on' game plan thats been one of the most effective against us this year 19 pts last time...Unforgiven wrote:I don't really buy into the whole speed factor. We struggled to shake them and pace had a part in that for sure.

Bombers will come out flying again but they have slowed into the latter part of this seasonTeflon wrote:Me either to be honest but its been the Bombers pace and 'take us on' game plan thats been one of the most effective against us this year 19 pts last time...Unforgiven wrote:I don't really buy into the whole speed factor. In practice you do get to pick your best 23 or 24.#1GILL wrote:Gee thats tough...Gram or dempster?? surely not. Wish they would let us pick 23mick13 wrote:Thats basically our best 22 minus CJ and Mini.

It is just that 1 or 2 of that 23 or 24 don't get to play because of some injury.
IN: McQualter, Jones
OUT: Whoever happens to have an injury at the time.
You never get to play your "Best 22", you only get to play your "Best & Fittest 22".

Pretty close to the money but in the big games and in particular THE big game do you pick your best if a couple are carrying something small that they would probably get away with. Hawks kept going with Hodge. You never get to play your "Best 22", you only get to play your "Best & Fittest 22".
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Blake & Ray?
Blake and Ray may be late withdrawals. Mystery injuries...maybe not just rested perhaps. This would then mean just about every player to play most games has had a rest. Mini and Jones in this same boat

So it's our best 22 but not our best 22?mick13 wrote:Thats basically our best 22 minus CJ and Mini.
For mine Begley will play for Blake late and Steven may get another chance in Ray's place.

Lets not forget the extra 3 day break they had on us! MASSIVE difference, 3 days...should never be allowed to happen. Such are the quirks of the draw.Teflon wrote:Me either to be honest but its been the Bombers pace and 'take us on' game plan thats been one of the most effective against us this year 19 pts last time...Unforgiven wrote:I don't really buy into the whole speed factor. Gee that's a strong side. At the start of the year when everyone picks their strongest side you're always thinking "we'll never get that team on the park because of injuries, suspensions, form etc" but this is pretty close to it. I wouldn't be unhappy having that line up play on the last Saturday in September.

Armo did well against Hawks & grabs his spot
Not surprised Armo got another go after last week. Hope he takes it with all the coache's instructions running through his head as he steps out again for the Saints.
GOOD LUCK ARMO ! Keep your spot
Raph in a back pocket has it all set up for himself -surrounded by a great hard working back 5 - he can be a very damaging 6th. backman with his agility and ball carrying ability.
Disappointed to see MCQ (McQualter) out as he's been inspirational.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
