Would you take him, maybe he can become another Ray or will he just be a waste of time? discuss.

Plugger is smart. The difference between picking up McMahon as opposed to Ray or Dempster or the Schniederman is age and ability to do one thing really, really wellSaints94 wrote:Why or are you just being smart?.........plugger66 wrote:Yes for sure.
Ray could always run, Schnieder was always a clever forward. McMahon offers what exactly apart from being 26+ with limited awareness, poor disposal (despite mainstream media saying otherwise) and not too quick
So despite looking like a young child he doesnt have one great strength we could use to better our squad
Swap for 4th round picks and the Tigers pay 3/4 of the final year of his dealjonesy wrote:Draft pick probably. Howver I wouldn't know.
I don't rate McMahon at all....having said that I didn't rate Ray either
Essentially we get a seasoned player without having to shell out too much who would be a Leigh Brown type replacement. Not even close to giving us a good show but a good quarter here and there and a target hit could be okay if circumstances provided

Do you think there are any other players we should target in trade week anyone?reincarnated wrote:Swap for 4th round picks and the Tigers pay 3/4 of the final year of his dealjonesy wrote:Draft pick probably. Howver I wouldn't know.

Don't rate him.
Didn't rate Ray.
If we are going to be giving up a pick we would have passed on anyway I'd be happy to back the team's judgement.
But assuming we are planning on getting him for depth what would be the odds of him getting a game, he'd be behind Goddard, Gram, Fisher, Gilbert, Geary, Ray, Baker etc. he'd only get a game in the most dire of circumstances...

Steven Salopek would be number one on my list. Brett Ebert wouldn't be far behind.Saints94 wrote:Do you think there are any other players we should target in trade week anyone?reincarnated wrote:Swap for 4th round picks and the Tigers pay 3/4 of the final year of his dealjonesy wrote:Draft pick probably. Major fan of Salopek regardless of the childhood ties. Ebert not so much - he would be criticised on this forum from the get go playing with roo and kosi and not kicking bags re gwiltArmoooo wrote:Steven Salopek would be number one on my list. Drum has shown nothing in a team that is re-building and giving seemingly everyone who is recently drafted to play sneior football. Whilst Drum has had a few games he has shown bugger allSaints94 wrote:Anyone interested in Drum from Freo or Seaby from the Eagles?
No to Seaby although fast forward a year and the decision could be a good one if King retires. We would then have a quality mature ruck, ample middle aged back up and a young developing ruckman

Drum - No, absolute dud.Saints94 wrote:Anyone interested in Drum from Freo or Seaby from the Eagles?
Seaby - Would have been last year, not anymore, IMO McEvoy has probably already overtaken him and if not, he certainly would have by next year. Wouldn't be able to get a game ahead of Gardiner/ King either.
He will go to a club where he can be number one ruckman, maybe somewhere like Melbourne...

Salopek is a quality player and everyone has poor years whether through injury or poor form. Considering our first pick will be late in a shallow draft we would want to attempt to hold onto it unless a great deal comes from another club in desperation for say Maguire - HawksSaints94 wrote:Say if we were interested what should/would we give up for them?reincarnated wrote:Major fan of Salopek regardless of the childhood ties. If the club found a way to get to first rounders somehow then and only then should we chase someone of quality as we could/should still have a first round/kind of high pick left to draft a decent kid
