Training 12th August 2009
I won't say this is a training report, anyone can feel free to add their comments.
I arrived early, Geary and Stevens were out on the track and were upbeat and enthusiastic. Lenny was walking the boundary line, and Gwilt was also out there warming up. Joey, Gwilt and Zac signed some autographs.
The guys drifted out in dribs and drabs, until official training got underway. All the guys went for jog and did a lap before stretches, King Gardiner Schneider Blake and Max kept jogging.
Couple of things I noticed...
*Gilbert was out stretching and rolling his back before main training began, looked to be quite comfortable.
*Ben's left thigh was strapped
*Goddard seemed to not be stretching quite as fluidly as I'd like, or was I paranoid?
*Also seemed that Clinton was having some difficulty with a foot or heel, once again could be paranoid?
*Goose was absent, I think that was the only absentee I noticed?
*Lots of media there today, I guess regarding the possible inclusions.

Yes, it was bad news - for the selectors. All of our "injured" players were there and participated in most of the sections of the hour long session.
The only absentees I noticed were Matthew Maguire and Leigh Fisher.
Steven King and Michael Gardiner ran laps together. Max, Jason Blake, Adam and Sean ran laps in another group. Lenny and Brendon did kicking when the others did tackling. Kosi removed his glove half way through a ground drill. Nick Riewoldt looks more and more like Superman every time I see him - all he needs is the cape. Leigh, Nick Dal Santo and Sam Gilbert all moved freely. If it rains in the finals, we'll have had some practice in the conditions.

Not from what I saw. If they miss, it won't be because of injury. Jason Gram, Clinton Jones and Farren Ray all participated in each section of the session.plugger66 wrote:From these reports it looks like Gram, CJ, Blake, MIni and Ray have slight injuries and could miss this week.
Stephen Milne was concerned about something during one of the drills and left the field after a brief chat with David Misson but did not appear to be too inconvenienced.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Nope - love the fact that we have retained the tri band even in our clash jumper!remboy wrote:Slightly off topic but does anyone else prefer the training tops to our alternate strip?
I like the training tops - but I lurve the tri-band!

Training 12th August 2009
The GOOD news is Folks! that the Jiggster and Bakesfan came through training and WILL be available for liquid "nourishment" come Sunday at Livewire!!!!!!
(Eastern please note! )
It was good to see so many at training and the inclement weather didn't dampen spirits!

..and no-one there noticed jiggster and myself having a good yak??
Fair enough you may not know my rough head, but 'thejiggingsaint' is pretty hard to miss. I had my trusty Akubra and Saints Dri-za-bone on, so I was warm as toast and enjoyed watching the boys (in between jiggster's constant yapping )
My report echos OWTS's.....
.....just adding the point that the players were terrific at the end of training. Many of them came over for autographs and photos with supporters.
I asked Lenny if he would be back on Sunday and he said, "It'll be up to the selectors if they think I'm good enough "
