...or his manager? It's got to be rubbish, there are so many factors that don't fit the equation in the whole scenario...mainly why trade for a 26 year old part timer from the Tigers, and who in our team is a fitting trade?ausfatcat wrote:plugger66 wrote:As much as i cant stand greg denham these reporters dont just pull these things from their arse.
True, but is it coming from the Tiges trying to get rid ogf him or the Saints interested in him?
I could see the upside to almost all our recycled guys from day one, but not this one.
someone who can't get a game wth a team who can't fluke win is highly wanted by a team that doesn't lose and that can't fit all it's players in it's afl team .....sounds about right to me....not.....

clearly it is pretty hard to get into our 22, so if you aren't in it you must have some good... features to stay on our list
...you win...

lol looking on the richmond bigfooty board some supporters are suggesting he's worth the same as armo or even a 3rd round pick. Even if we did take him it would probably be like how we would have taken Carroll last year.
Anyway it seems a bit strange... we're going to struggle to delist enough to cover our compulsory 3 + 1 or 2 for dawson and miles... why would we want a 26 year old outside player who kicks badly and has already been through 2 teams and is on a high contract.

I've seen a lot more of him than anyone here (at a guess) and can say he's definitely got a lot of ability but he's a downhill skier.
He'd be going beautifully with us this season, averaging 24 touches and burning up the backline. You'd be wondering why nobody realised his talent sooner.
But, in a crap team, he will mirror the confidence of those around him.
Would need to take a massive pay cut and I'm not exactly sure whose position he would be taking.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

don't rate him
i have a feeling that there might be some truth in this... he's the tip of player we don't have much of... outside, pacy, skilled
would effectively be competing for Gram's spot
too old
not good enough but seems to be improving
costs 2 much both in salary and darft picks i reckon... tigers would want at least a 2nd round for him. I'd be reluctant to part with more than a 4th... maybe a third
interesting how players are getting linked to us all of a sudden
Kerr
McMahon
and counting

...by idiots. Recruiting Ray never looked like a bad decision...he is young, showed more than just glimpses of excellence, had a ready-made position in the St Kilda team and really wanted out of the Bulldogs. Does McMahon mirror any of these? I'm sure he really wants out of the Tigers, everyone but Richo and Cuz want out.boneless23 wrote:We all said the same things about Farren Ray last October.
I think the biggest concerns would be his lack of progress to date and his hefty price tag, remembering that he is a proposal (according to the report) as a back-up player, i.e. a Sandy recruit.
Wouldn't really hold any Richmond players wholly accountable for their style of play the last 5 years, funny how some of these guys are flourishing now Terry has gone.
If it was true and we had seen something in this guy, I wouldn't have a problem with it...certainly loved his emotion after kicking the winning goal the other week.
