Eddie Mcguire made a interesting point on one week at a time that he would like to see a weekend of no footy after round 22 and have the brownlow medal and all australian teams announced that weekend.

I actually don't mind the idea of the 8 finals teams having a week off to get ready for September and it would get rid of the hassle of teams coming off a short break.

would be annoying having no footy for a weekend but it would be a good chance to get all players fit and ready for finals.

Fortunately in 2009, we effectively have 3 weeks off with top spot all but sewn up..

(4 weeks if you count 8 players getting a rest against Hawthorn!)

This may prove to be a great advantage to us come September...
