Jack Stevens' first kick

Post: # 792723Post Moose »

Apologies if this has been mentioned in another thread. Did Jack Steven kick a goal with his 1st kick? I watched the replay and I reckon he did. Anyone else?
Of course those morons stealing money from CH 10 too barack for hawthorn didn't wake up to it.

Jack's ball use was very good.
But his first kick was not a goal.

He radiates class though.

I was more impressed with his first kick...40 metre left foot pass, hit his man on the tit.

But yeah that goal was pretty awesome too.

He seems very confident in his kicking ability. To pin-point someone on his left foot into the corridor with his first kick is a great sign.

He reminded me of a young Luke Ball in the way he played and looked.

joey was a late bloomer, even until 2 years ago folks were hoping for a round 2 draft pick for him while he was still worth something ><

Still blooming as far as I am concerned. His decision making is still poor, his kicking for goal makes Luke Ball look like a sharpshooter and his own opinion of his abilities is far in excess of where it should be. He may eventually get there, I hope he does, but outside runners need to make the most of their opportuntities. Many of his uncontested possies mean little to me except that he is fit. He might like to look at the work of David Armitage (first game this year) and Jack Steven (first game) before he places the Brownlow around his neck. He'll get few votes, despite media predictions.

Not questioning the accuracy of this as I wouldn't have a clue, but be interested to hear what it is that makes you say that?

Blown away by this post, must be a different player who I have watched work hard over the last 6 or 7 years whilst the likes of DalSanto Ball and Goddard have got all the plaudits. IMO he has improved his fitness and work ethic nearly every year and developed into a very good footballer. Runs hard on the outside and goes in hard on the inside. Tackles well and has learnt to play with a tag very quickly unlike many "champion" midfielders over the years. Has kicked poorly for goal this year but his field kicking is very good and he has been a reliable goal kicker in previous year. most importantly he has recognised that his goal kicking is a problem this year and publicly spoken about his desire to improve on it. This is the first step to rectifying all problems IMO.

Did he sleep with your sister?

Maybe this year?
