Gwilt reported
Some Hawthorn dawk (Jordan Lewis) tries to bull his way past Gwilt.
Gwilt stands still.
Imbecile umpire pays free against Gwilt and then reports Gwilt for not stepping out of the way.
Will be thrown our by the match review committee.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

I dont have an issue with that. I reckon that is pretty good umpiring. He is obviously happy for it to be thrown out if he shouldnt be suspended.Bernard Shakey wrote:The umpire at the time said "That was high, I'm reporting you so we can have a look at it."
That says to me the umpire has no idea and was lazy.
Nothing in it. Will be dropped on Monday.

i may have missed it but no matter if it was my guy getting reported or yours i would rather they do that and at least look at it ,Bernard Shakey wrote:The umpire at the time said "That was high, I'm reporting you so we can have a look at it."

how many times do you see something done to your player and it is not even looked at specially when it is seen clearly on tv , we had ottens [crows] punch one of our guys in the balls did not even get looked at even though it was fully on the tv for all to see ! the commentators thought he would go for it but no nothing ! not even looked at .
if nothing in gwilts report it will be thrown , you will have to wait and see sadly !

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Gee whiz that's a ridiculous call!
If I were the club, I would take the plea but also call for the AFL to provide detailed advice as to what a player in Gwilt's situation is supposed to do when a player runs at them full tilt with his head down and not looking where he is going.
This would hopefully hold the AFL up to a bit of ridicule.

I'm dumfounded !
going off to watch the tape again
I'm sure he just stood still and braced himself while the guy plummeted into him with his head down
Take 2...
Q3 6.43 on the clock Mr Magic
mmmmm .........
I'd watched their replay of it a few times but if you go back and watch the original with a wider view of the center bounce Jimmy was running to meet the advancing group with his arm tucked in by his side
he appears to have stopped more in their replay which shows a closer view
he's a solid boy now and the mature body is a great plus along with his beaut long kicking

Well here's the Umpire's official opinion on a similar style of incident from last year when Reiwoldt was free-kicked.meher baba wrote:Gee whiz that's a ridiculous call!

Hi Allan,
The free kick paid against Nick in this situation was an error. You are right when you say Nick could do nothing to avoid this contact as the Hawthorn player dived in and initiated all the contact Nick had turned around blindly to pursue the ball and was met by a sliding opponent. Nick did all he could to avoid high contact. The best call would have been “play onâ€

...which is exactly what happened. I assume he would have been OK had he followed through with his intent to get the ball, thus smashing the Hawks player into 1986.starsign wrote:I'm dumfounded !

Add it to the collection of 'could only happen to a St Kilda' player incidents.

Gwilt call is a joke. Nothing he could do, we should challenge it. Pride is on the line, we need to make some sort of stand against the tribunal for such crap decisions.
What's more puzzling is Brown being thrown out? The intent was clearly there with his bent knees to drive forward into Milney's kidney/ass region, and yet, no suspension. Brown is a dirty, sniping thug, and I cannot believe that he didn't cop 2 weeks for such a dog act.
