Despite the outs...I am excited!!!!
Well despite the outs I am still excited about the Hawks game.
* will get to see Steven debut and see how he goes ata higher level.
* will see Mini take on a full time midfield role. He has stepped up marvelouslyy this year and this is the chance to see if he can step up again!!
* will see how others in our first 22 on our list step up to the challenge of filling "big boots".
* will see how Ball has responded to his dropping and the challenge to do more..
* will see how others from our fringe goes....including possibly Armo...
It is justa pity that Goose tweeked his hammy and so he misses out on his 100th. Then again it will be "niver" if he gets to do this in Melbourne anyway.

agree. if heyne and steven debut ill be even more excited
talk about a tough introduction to afl. unsociable hawks down in antarctica.
maybe RL wants to play heyne, steven and armo down there to send a message to the young gen yers that hey guys this afl business is tough.
its not all goal fests and running under a roof showboating.
no doubt they already know all this after a season at sandy. but still a lesson nonetheless down in launie. very very harsh conditions down there in august.
but its great for their long term confidence. at the end RL can say , well guys - thats as tough as it gets in afl. u have already done it. u might not play a tougher game ever. which will be a great confidence for a youngster to know theyve already copped it and survived.

True, there are a lot of positive to take out of this.
Also, the value of resting players, but also seeing new players/players having the first game for the year. If injuries strike Lyon will know who is capable of what, a lot better than throwing in a first gamer into a final.
Will have an Ace up our sleeve come finals if we face the hawks, or 7 ace's (Roo, Bj, hayes, Baker, Gilbert, Fisher, Montagna).

Carpe Diem
I can't wait, as good as it would have been to have only used 27 players for the season, that would have been brilliant, but we needed to find out about our next three or four on the list. much better doing it in this game against a good opposition, as compared to melbourne or north. The one interesting thing, that he has managed to do, is he has kept as settled back 6 as possible, before fisher went out today.
