Great stuff Sainters - this really adds to my confidence that 2009 could be our year!
Really pleased? With what? The injuries?

How can Roo be concussed?
He ran into Kosi again and this time he got what he'd been asking for every other time he did it.
You musnt have even watched the game. Kosi polazed Roo, steam rolled him
Yep he got into Kosi way, ffs every other member of the team knows not to do it.

This game and team selections will provide the perfect chance to see if there are any passengers in the team.
If there are they will be replaced the following week.

Bally

BTW - we've still only played 28 players - unless one of the emergencies plays

WTF? Roo had the right of way ! He had eyes on the ball and Kosi came flying from the side!! Not to bag Kosi though, gotta love his commitment to the contest

This is good for the team something like this could happen in a prelim or grand final if the team can beat hawthorn in tassie without those players in the side it means they are really going well , Im all for resting

Nah stuff that, Riewoldt is the king of the land, Kosi is a peasant and he should keep his boof head out of Riewoldt's way even if he has the right to go for the ball.

Lets hope we are not getting ahead of ourselves and playing around with a winning team. One loss can either make you more hungry or start doubting your ability and mess with your confidence ....Hope Ross knows best as he has done the right thing all year..
its not getting ahead of ourselves. that fact is we are top 2. we know we will play at least 2 finals.

no prizes for being august champs. lions and crows have shown that being primed for september is all the counts. 21-1 is hardly bad form. make no mistake the cats will be turned on when september comes. we need to be ready.

i would happy to rest the whole team send sandy down.

He actually had no right to go for that ball but we know Kosi is always going to go at the ball whoever is in his way.

If they give it to Kosi he may play like he did in 05 when he was stand in captain.

agreed.

the whole way undefeated?
sure of course its nice, but in the scheme of things what is it that really matters??

players being cherry ripe come the business end.
those coming back in will be just as hungry and go just as hard
imagine steven getting 32 touches and bagging a couple huh???

u never know what u might unearth
throw the side around, change a tactic here or there
not many sides have the opportunity to be in this position.
we are actually quite lucky
as if bj has a knee prob
dont just look...see! 8-)

go saints

To all teh people who are worried.

If you think ANY of these injuries are actually genuine, you're absolutely kidding yourselves. If this was a final ALL of those players would play and so would Gilbert.

Rooey and Monty obviously no risk approach.
Hayes, Goddard and Baker have all had a tough season. Good that Hayes doesn't have to fly after a game as his back has caused issues in the park and good to give Goddard and Baker a week off to sort out any issues come finals. Reckon these 5 are absolutely cruscial in September. Baker has been up and down a bit in his return year but finals are physical and he's one of our toughest.
Feel for our south island supporters though not getting to see these 5 in action.
They get to see Steven debut though.
 gee thanks

would rather see the stars run around, but as i said elsewhere i understand the club position.

Jack's debut is small consolation to seeing Roo and Lenny tear it up.

While everyone is looking at our outs (and they are huge outs) they are more than handy ins.

Geary had earnt a recall.....and we have all be waiting ages to see Steven debut.

And I have a sneaking feeling tht King will go out for Armo!!!!

Which does not mean that the injuries are not genuine.

It is not a final...but it will be in a month. so why risk aggravatinga minor injury into a major one?

Interesting indeed.
Looking forward to this match more now as well. Our team still looks strong and we have a new challenge in front of us now...to win without Riewoldt, Goddard, Montagna, Hayes, Baker and Gilbert.
Great see Bally back and congrats to Steven(debut).
Hope we play all 3 big men and Gards is tried forward. I think he could easily kick a few goals and give us another dimension in attack should we need cover in the finals.
