I have a $20 bet every week on the saints to win
Guess i cant tell you about any losses this year.
After the footy season i dont punt at all.

Gambling is only an addiction if you let it be, just like drinking.
Having a controlled punt here and there is more of a fun/relax thing just like having a beer or 2 and calling it quits.

Being holier than though about other peoples lifestyles is a disgrace in my opinion but thats just my opinion.

Wrong actually, gambling is an addiction just like smoking, drinking and drugs CAN be.

I am like you, I like a punt every now and again, pretty much only on footy and I bet only what I can afford to lose.

However there are people out there who have no control and it's not right for us to judge them, because it is essentially a disease.

Well now you do.

I make personal bets with myself. I simply say to myself... "I'll bet Milne kicks the first goal", if he does I feel rewarded, if he doesn't it costs me nothing.
Very often winning a bet is all about bragging rights and hopefully earning the respect of ya mates and some self esteem. That's a shame right there.

Of the gamblers I've known they always tell me when they win, but are silent when they lose.... which is most of the time.

Personally, I wouldn't give any bookie 1 cent of mine - I'd rather give it to charity... but that's just my humble opinion. :)

Betting is an addiction which is constantly rammed down our throats thru the media and now on the scoreboard. It's a disgrace... but that's just my humble opinion. :)
Betting is an addiction for who. Not 95% of people. drinking is an addiction but again for only about 3% of people. Do we ban these things because of 3% of the population. I dont think so. To many do gooders in this state. No wonder it is known as the nanny state.

Has been crap lately with the saints as some of our odds are too short, For a win at $1.05 and you put $20 on us you only get back $1 (or $21)

So i have been a bit more extravagent and doing multi's or margins. Yeah, sure you lose a lot more but is a bit healthier when they come off

What's worse is that these massive bets are obviously coming from people in or around the club because who else would know, and they're betting AGAINST US!!! I'm feeling rather dirty at the moment.

Of course, but seriously the info comes from in the club.

Sportsbet (Darwin)

Hawthorn $1.80 (cf $3.50 Wednesday am)
St Kilda $2.05

Saints 0 losses
Hawks 10 losses

Even with injuries, doesn't add up does it? Especially when you realise that if you put $100 on the Hawks last Tuesday, you could now put $150 on the Saints and get a nice little collect no matter who wins.

Oh bother! These old facilities at Moorabbin leak when it rains.
If only the AFL and Kingston Council had been more generous these leaks would have stopped.

To stop leaks from any club, you would have to isolate the players, coaches and admin for lead up to every game. Remember, the players live with family/friends. It only takes one of those to make a comment to the wrong person.........

Now

Hawks $1.62
Saints $2.35

Be funny if the Hawks had a few late changes.
