Is next Saturday LIVE in Melb on Channel 10????

Just noticed that the telecast starts at 2.00pm in Melbourne (according to the Sunday Age TV guide) As I assume the game is a 2.10 start ..surely this means a LIVE telecast????

Ch 10 will try to tell us they are being inovative by giving her a gig. The truth is that they are one commentator short with Anthony Hudson in Rome for the World Swimming Championships, and that is the ONLY reason she is getting a gig !!

Channel 10 also does games live into Sydney - unlike 7 which doesn't give even "delayed" live - preferring on Friday night to run movies that either no-one has ever seen at the movies because they were bombs or twentieth repeats of old favs. Of course, I'm telling Sydney siders nothing new. Just why the AFL allows one of their "broadcast partners" to deliberately sabotage the game in Sydney is beyond me. They will get the audience - it's just a matter of will. Seven paid heaps for the rights not to broadcast the games in Sydney and Brisbane.

Cause the AFL does not think that putting it to air live in Melbourne will affect the gate in Tasmania - the game is being played at Aurora Stadium in Launceston.

I'm a fan of her, I prefer her type of calling, some people might think she's boring and focuses too much on telling her what is happening but IMO that is a lot better than a bunch of stupid 'inside jokes', pointless banter, recollections of yesteryear and pure incompetence. As for her voice, it doesn't really bother me but I can see where people are coming from...

But back to your point, it is infuriating to see anybody who doesn't like her referred to as sexist, yes there are a lot of people out there who would have automatically dismissed her due to the fact she is a woman, however the majority of people don't like her for other reasons and it really is unfair that they should be branded as sexist.

One thing she does do well is call each players name who has the ball. On Foxtel yesterday we took the ball from Sydney's forward line onto our forward line with 4 Saints handling the ball in the process. not one of their names were mentioned, instead the callers were raving on about something or other which had nothing to do with the game.
Healy, Lynch and Dunstall are terrible with their calling. continually not naming players from teams who are figuring in the action at the time.

As long as she is calling us while we are winning I don't care.

At least her calls aren't as bias as some of her male counterparts, or even better, if the photo is real, she maybe biased towards us.

I haven't listened to a game with her calling, so I'll be interested to see how she goes.

Although I'll probs have footy on at 2 that day, which means I'll probs miss more than half of it...

Actually if I called my wife "the missus" in public she'd not be happy and prolly brand me a touch sexist..but..each to their own of course

Just a note on Beverly O'Connor..I think shes a very very good TV host..and MC. Did my wifes graduation ceremony and didnt miss a beat calling out more tongue-twisting names than you could imagine...very smooth.
