Anyone else enjoy that contest on the half back flank where he threw himself headfirst at a million miles an hour to win the footy for us?

Really sets the tone does out Lenny!

Pretty nice all round game to go with it too!

Go Saints!

He dropped off a little in the second half, but was clearly BOG by a mile to halftime.

Fantastic committment but something the A.F.L. rules committee will probably look at outlawing in the future as it easily could have destroyed Johnsons knees just as Buckley did to Joel Smith all those years ago. Already is a suspendable offence in the Gridiron.

His workrate is elite. Blokes walk a bit taller, and run a bit harder when he is in your side. As good a midfielder as anyone going around

Lenny was only trying to help tippy toes Johnson run properly.

Knocked up getting the pill after 1/2time, but set it up for us in the 1st half and that hit on rosy cheeks made my night. I vote Johnno for corky of the month, and lucky his knee wasnt ripped apart.

Lenny does this sort of thing just about every week. Never ever shirks a contest & I'd be surprised if he wasn't covered in bruises most of the time.

Reckon him & Roo are just about the best captain/vice captain combination in terms of courage, inspiration & leadership.

I'm sure our friends at the MRP will be working on a way to cite him!

Can you believe the clown in the Age didn't give him a vote (they do the top 5) ?
They simply looked at who had the most possessions.
Lenny's are hard and telling, not soft stat builders.

Lenny is our engine room and is just as critical as Riewoldt.

Memory's OK, definitely tricky dicky that fell across him and robbed the Saints of a great IMO...

Spot on. That was the game that Shane Wakelin played in and kicked 5 goals. The two best that day were Harvey and Buckley. The Joel Smith knee injury soared that MCG win. I believe his knee injury was so bad (both ACL and PCL), he required two operations.

and the most annoying thing is that the same thing had happened to osborne a couple of years prior to that incident.when he was still playing for the swine........he should have known better...cost us a premiership and a very good player...the only one of any value that we got for plugger.......

I remember that MCG injury of Joel Smith well. I can still see the replay on that big screen with Joel Smith's knee swinging sideways in a direction no knee was ever designed to swing. It was a committed rather than an illegal tackle though and I regret that a great ghosting Half forward flanker destined for greatness and part of The Ozzy Jones era disappeared, to return 2 years later as a gritty defender for Hawthorn. If only we had kept the faith and hung on to him!

If Boyd was Lenny's opponent, then Boyd came out on top on the day.
