Very cunning of us to tank, and tank so well.plugger66 wrote:It appears to me we are the first tem to truely get the priorty pick because of only winning a certain number of games that being less than 5 in 2000.OneGram wrote:The First Player ever selected in the National Draft as a Priority Selection was Travis Johnstone Pick 1 PS 1997 by Melbourne
Probably helped by the move to the Docklands, many new players and new coach.
i dont know the answer to that plug1. all i know is that TJ was the first PS in the ND.plugger66 wrote:If that is the case why didnt they also get selection 2 as no other side won less than 5 games that year.OneGram wrote:The First Player ever selected in the National Draft as a Priority Selection was Travis Johnstone Pick 1 PS 1997 by Melbourne
Yes you are 100% correct and i am 100% incorrect. They traded pick 2. It was 5 wins or less back then. Collingwood and Freo got it the year after and then us. Brisbane didnt tank in 1998 as they won 5 and a half games.OneGram wrote:i dont know the answer to that plug1. all i know is that TJ was the first PS in the ND.plugger66 wrote:If that is the case why didnt they also get selection 2 as no other side won less than 5 games that year.OneGram wrote:The First Player ever selected in the National Draft as a Priority Selection was Travis Johnstone Pick 1 PS 1997 by Melbourne

That is technically right but we really got Kosi and Freo really got Pav.OneGram wrote:The 2nd ever Priority Selection was Josh Fraser Pick 1 1999 by Collingwood
The 3rd ever Priority Selection was Paul Hasleby Pick 2 1999 by Fremantle
The 4th ever Priority Selection was Nick Riewoldt Pick 1 2000 by St Kilda

Exactly.degruch wrote:You got that right.OneGram wrote:i am an idiotdegruch wrote:I don't know if we've tanked well...the draft of 1900 didn't help us at all. At least tanking in 1955 got us a new coach...you idiot.
We got priority picks in the 2000 draft by being outstandingly crap...weren't you there?
We didnt NEED to tank cause we were s***, seriously a team comprised of 22 members of this forum would have beaten the 2000 Saints......comfortably me thinks
