Who cares if it on or off !!!!!
All I care about know is winning the last game of the Year !!! and this awesome side ross lyon has got playing fantastic team football should do it ! and when we do , I'm gunna take that lid and shove it so far up the arses of all those other teams supporters who always bag the hell out of us saints supporters for no reason, then ill melt that lid and turn it into a statue commemorating they greatest team ever ! " The saints of 09 " the people can come from all over World and pay homage' to that statue . then one day a small crippled lad will be miracously cured whilst visiting it , the statue will hence be known as "saints the redeemers "
becoming a shrine rivalling Lourdes in france, and the men featured in that statue , will be able to travel the world in their later years bringing messages of peace love and understanding to all corners of the planet , ushering in a new era of enlightenment. Just think of the pearls of wisdom someone like stevie milne a.k.a. the tip rat could come up with !!!

The lid is still on for me...but how good is it to be a Sainter atm?????? It shouldn't get any better than a 16 game winning streak but every week....it does get better!
I don't think the word proud cuts it, I feel better than simply proud!
Go SAINTS!!

Lid still on, I just wanna take it one week at a time and enjoy each victory as it comes along.
However, this is by far our best crack at the flag that I've witnessed in my young life so there is heaps of reason to be optimistic.

I am getting a quote on having a flag pole erected at home for the flag that I take to each game we attend. Then Jigging Dave can come around and salute it to his hearts content!

I'm still getting over the euphoria of beating Sleepy Hollow.
To see how far they had to push themselves just to get within a sniff of matching the Saints, and how heavy a toll it took on them... meanwhile the Saints hammer out a win in Perth, then come home and thump the self-fancying Crows like the last three weeks never happened.
Robbo's headline in today's H-S says it all AFAIAC:
SAINTS... DAYLIGHT
Do I think they can win the flag? No question.
Do I think they will? More likely than not.
My money is on the Saints for the flag.
That particular lid is OFF!

You can't blame the guy.
What's worse... to spruik for the Grand Final - and miss it?
Or to be the first team to go 16-0 - and miss it?
Seriously - if we don't go all the way this year - what possible face-saving is there to be had???
It will be the worst scenario imaginable. If we had dropped at least a game or two at this stage there would be some leeway - not much, but some - to slip back under the radar.
Let's face it. The Saints are not contenders. They are favourites!
Does anyone here honestly believe this not to be the case?
At this stage in proceedings... what is the point of having a lid???

My reasoning is we have only won the right to play a home final against either the third or fourth best sides. We actually havent won anything else yet and until we do my lid is firmly on.InkerSaint wrote:You can't blame the guy.

But I say without any doubt - this will be a very dark year for all of us if it does not end with a St. Kilda premiership.
I am surely no different than any of you - I go forward into the next 10 weeks wide-eyed and terrified.
But false bravado will be no less a folly than mute silence if our team don't deliver on the big one.
They can. And they will. I'm backing the boys in.
Go Saints!

My lid status is in my signature, it has been for weeks !!!!!!
It has be a little shakey espeically after some games IE: Geelong.
But I am to scared to open it and have a look... done that in 2004 and 2005 and look what happened!

Well that may be fine with you but to me if we dont win the GF this year it ranks with every other year except 1966. We have won 16 straight and every side who has done that has won a flag. We must continue this tradition otherwise it is a wasted year.aussierules0k wrote:Nothing could turn this year into a dark one imho.InkerSaint wrote: But I say without any doubt - this will be a very dark year for all of us if it does not end with a St. Kilda premiership.
As a supporter of over 40 years, in 2009 I've experienced the BEST group ever to wear our colours. I have faith we'll be in grannys at least 3 out of 5 in the coming years. At those odds we'll win 2 or 3 flags.
Dark years was when we couldn't win more than 3 games.
Yes we all want a flag or 5, but the future is bright... no matter what happens now in our brightest year on record, 2009.
Love it, i believe i will do that! the day it comes off is the last day in september. not a day beforeSainternist wrote:Keeping lids on three tins of paint. one tin red, the other white and the third black.
Am planning on removing the lids from the tins on the last saturday of september, approximately 5pm and then painting the town with the tins' contents
Go saints, 2009 is our year!
