I guess there's no real way of finding out the real answer though??

Does anyone know how to find Luke Ball's blog? I remember there used to be a link to it on WOM...

Possibly that may have some information if it can be found...

Didn't he sit out his first year?

Im praying there is nothing wrong - But the signs are not promising.

Being eased into the game off the bench every quarter, and lacking intensity (except tackling) when on the field is making me more and more worried.

If he is being used tactically or is in a form slump - fine.

If he is limited through injury...rest him - cut this manage bulls*** and give him 3 to 4 weeks and hopefully both Bally and the Saints reap the benefits at the business end of the season.

With such low TOG the last few weeks it is fair assumption that Bally must be carrying something....for witha mid having sucha low TOG it means that other mids get rested less.

However Ball is our only HARD in and under mid....and so I suspect that Lyon is manging his problem to use him in bursts when required for some hard grunt.

It is pity though that Armo has had such an injury interupted year otherwise he may have been tried in this role.

or he could be exhausted and instead of giving players a rest and dropping them they will be targetting certain mids for less game time. Ie Ball the last two weeks, hayes for two weeks, Dal for two weeks ect ect

But the most likely he is carrying something. Too much training as a youngster and playing too long injured.

if he is "carrying something" he should be rested shouldn't he? not a big fan of playing guys who aren't fit.

i take your point about us having few in-and-under options, though.

would mini be worth a shot there?

loved it lol. these things never make their way into the highlight reel these days though, it's almost exclusively goals with a sprinkling of big marks. shame.

Gotta agree. Though I highly regard Luke, I think his career has peaked unfortunately. Though corageous and hard-at-it, he will simply never be the player many of us hoped, and expected, after such a stellar start to his career. No matter who is at fault for that, I believe it to be true. However, there is still a place for him in the team as an in-and-under type (which he obviously relishes). For how long though, I don't know.

His form/output is making our choice to overlook Ben Cousins (35 possies, in 78% of game time on Saturday) even worse now.
Maybe Luke would benefit from an extra few months off after the season, to maybe travel, to freshen up his body and mind and get away from it all. It could do him the world of good.

My understanding is that it's a chronic condition that doesn't go away and must be constantly managed by reducing the workload when it gets bad.
