cats v dogs in 1st round of finals. good or bad for stk?

Post: # 769483Post saint08 »

would it be good or bad for us to meet cats in a prelim?

assuming in the next 8 games, we win the same (or one fewer than Geelong, given our %,) it seems highly likely geelong plays cats in the 1st round of the finals.

IMO, bulldogs are a real chanmce to knock them off. If we win 1st round (most likely v Coll or Adelaide ), this could set up a prelim v cats.

is it good or bad for us to meet cats in a prelim?

I think Geelong will definately beat the cats, depending on injuries.

We need to met them at least once to win a flag. I would prefer that to the GF than a prelim.

exactly my concern. I hope they beat the dogs. Don't want to play them in a PF, and have to come up a week later v another team in the GF

Here's hoping the interstate clubs; Brisbane and Adelaide win as many of their remaining matches and take one or both of the two remaining top 4 positions. Western Bulldogs have a very tough run home and I just learnt tonight that they have only managed victory against one current top 8 side this season so it isn't past the realms of possibility that they miss the qualifiers altogether.

Doggies actually match up really well on the Cats, so could expect a tight one if they were to come up against each other

The cats were really pushed by the dogs a few weeks back!

And i concur with the hope of an interstate team making fourth... Means they would have to travel... Plus i dont know if im the only one who would feel a tad nervous playing Collingwood week one of finals??

I just want to win all three finals. To win the GF this year, you'll need to beat both Geelong and the Bulldogs.

A tough ask, but we have done it once, so we'll have to do it again.

Not necessarily - if Geelong finish 2nd and lose their Qualifying Final and then lose their Semi Final then they are out and we will not have to play them at all

yeah agree with that.

Long way to go yet.

Anything could happen, injuries etc. A couple of clubs could struggle, or a couple could get a run on.

Just worry about next week.
