What did we learn today

Post: # 769094Post plugger66 »

I learnt that the 2 best sides are very very close in ability and if bothe make the GF then luck either way may decide the GF. before today I would have thought the Cats may have a reasonable advantage but today makes it about as even as you can get.

I also learnt or should have known it anyway that Lenny is a superstar but just lacks a little courage.

I think our players learned today that they are competitive with Geelong - something we haven't been for a couple of years.

I learned that our patience shown in Michael Gardiner was well worth it

I think we learnt more than the Cats, the basic thing we achieved was the knowledge that they can be beaten.

Their very best played well today I thought, and they came up short. Yes Stevie J wasn't there but, we had more out IMO, we will be better than that, and without injuries I am now quite confident we can do it this year.

More confident than I have ever been, in any year bar 2005.

The 2009 Premiership is within our grasp. We are good enough to beat everyone.

We learnt that St Kilda and Geelong are pretty even sides, and that there is not much separating them.

As plugger66 says, it may come down to a couple of moments either way to decide a match later in the year.

We did learn that what the Saints are doing in terms of their structure, their personnel, their tactics and their attitude is spot on.

I learnt we are definetly a chance. People can say no Johnson and no Ottens all they like but the fact is we had Max missing who would tear Johnson a new arse hole everyday of the week and King who can hold his own against Ottens.

C'MON SAINTERS!! WE CAN DO THIS!

We learned that if Roo or Big Gardi is gonna take a specky in front of goal - that we don't get in their way....

What a start to the match with that Roo mark / goal...

...and what an end - an imposing Gardi launches himself and just smashes the pack - and then goals.

AWESOME.

I confirmed my "OPINION" that we are better than Geelong. Our threat this year will not be from them, which is not to say that they are not a fantastically skilled and coached side. It's just that we are on the away up and they are on the way down. But. There is still danger on the horizon, and it wears red, white and...blue. If today's game was big, there will be another in a few weeks time that will almost match it on the day but will be more important in the long run [OPINION].

That Clint Jones, Andrew McQualter and Zac Dawson are 3 of the most improved players in the entire competition.

And that Chapman was WRONG after all

I learnt that Sam Gilbert could be our next Superstar.

He was just everywhere in the back line. Silky, evasive and totally in control. Great game Sammy.

IF It is to be it is up to me.
