When he first started playing I thought that he was never going to measure up, but the more I watch of him, the way he works and has the ability to do something special I think he is going to be a really solid player and thought he was in our best today when we needed to gain control

Agreed and nice first post arthur08. But was a slight build and always going to take a little while.

Said to a mate before the game he needed to show that little bit more today after a couple of quiet ones, and after a slow start I thought he really shone through, and cemented his place as a given for next week.

His endeavour, especially after Q1, I thought was more than commendable.

I was impressed with him today.

Did anyone see who/what caused him to be in a crumpled heap on the ground about 50 metres off the ball? He took a while to get to his feet with the help of a trainer and looked fairly groggy doing it. I think it was in the first quarter.

He was running with Hislop (90% sure) at the time, through the middle towards HF, didn't see the incident but Gears went down hurting - a couple of our blokes remonstrated with Hislop immediately...

I thought it was Cotchin and he may have given him one to the mid section.

Lenny immediately 'fronted' the Richmond player and received a whack for his trouble as well.
I dind't see who it was, so I'm more than happy to accept Iceman's knowledge that Hislop was the player concerned.

improved after quarter time as he was not confident enough in that first quarter and turned the ball over. Used his body very well to set up some early goals in the second and along with gilbert were extremely good when the game was there to be won.

The incident with Geary was with Cotchin - not Hislop.

I saw the immediate aftermath, Cotchin was standing immediately beside Gears with the play near the boundary line some 50m away. Lenny remonstrated but fell over. A few comical moments in that game - the Blake handpass to cousin Roo who hits the post..

Cotchin should get pinged for that. BBBBH may get more weeks though.

Yes, needs to rest up until next Sunday.
A rest he earned today.

Great to see him back to form today. I thought he was up in our best handful - running freak! It was definitely Cotchin that gave him a nudge. Probably a week or two in it I would think.
