I'll be there. Have convinced the old man to come along too.

Will be getting the train out in order to drink a skinful.

Will endeavor to post a report afterwards.

It may be colourful.

Ahh, you can buy beer there? I'm just around the corner in Mt Waverley, just down Middleborough Rd for me... If I can drink there, I'm down, I finish exams tomorrow so no excuse for me not to be in attendance!

Quite right, and counter-intuitive for most people.

Whilst we're on the week off has anyone been taking in the Sandy games consistently enough to give any raps on who's looking good/interesting/hot in the players we haven'y seen much of.

e.g. Gaertner, Begley, etc.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

but I'll drag out the layers again on Sunday
saintbrat.....you have led a charmed existence!!

only 4 games at Waverley where you used to get wet sitting on your seat.

We, who are teenagers in supporter terms (rather than children), went to Moorabbin. There we used to get wet too, but we used to stand all afternoon from 1/2 time in the reserves through to the final siren - a good 4 1/2 hours standing in the rain.

A roof! Individual seats! Undercover parking! Bah humbug! What has happened to the younger generation?

I'll swap ages with you saintbrat, I saw all 4 games of the 1966 final series at the MCG.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Robert Eddy not selected in the Sandy seniors or reserves.
Does anyone know if he is injured, suspended or given the week off.

Eddy was given the week off because he didnt get a chance to have any time off as he was the emergency as was Jimmy last week. Dont know about Miles, pretty sure he is playing.

Yes, Miles is selected but his name was not in bold type.

Are you serious? I assume not (it's not always easy to tell with your posts). Surely Eddy would be desperate to play and press his claims for selection in the seniors. If I were him, I'd be telling the club what it could do with its week off.

i haven't seen a vfl game this year and don't expect to. but i've been keeping track of how many games each st kilda player has played for sandy seniors and reserves, and how many votes in the best they've got, at this thread:

http://www.saintsational.com/forum/view ... hp?t=52235

the best have basically been those you'd expect, the same players who've been emergencies regularly for the afl side. bolters probably stanley and simpkin, who started in the sandy reserves and has earned promotion and appeared in the best a couple of times in the sandy firsts.

a few with not many best votes so far and ensconced in the sandy reserves could be considered vaguely disappointing, including connors, smith, cahill and haretuku. a long way to go for all of them - of course, they're all pretty young, and it's been hard to get into the sandy side this year thanks to the short st kilda injury list.

but directions on getting there in this link

its the windy ground on the corner
why are so many VFL ground windy and unfavourable to Supporters
Wiliamstown
Frankston
Sandringham
North Ballarat
Casey Fields

no nice protected grounds anywhere?
we are soft these days aint we ;) remember when it used to rain sideways at waverley or moorabin, those were when they made supporters tough :D

But on box hill city oval, when the wind picks up it's a terrible place to watch a game cause the wind ends up being worth 6-7 goals!
box hill is fine if you want protection from wind sit in front of social club which is between the benches for both teams
you may see me there tomorrow i will probably be sitting in front of the sausage sizzle best sausages in town believe me i will probably have 4

boxhill is on the corner whitehorse and middleborough road with train station walking distance away laburnum station ! and a bus right out front .

if you see me say hi
