Yeah I'm a troll of the worst kind. I've been going to Saints matches since 1966 and wearing the colours and barracking for them and all the time deep deep under cover I really barrack for the blues. I even went to Princes Park, stood right next to Manning Clark and Shouted for the Saints. How more Troll-like can you get?

Thanks Perfectionist and DeGruch. I am a real one. Came from England in 1966, knew nothing about Aussie Rules, saw Darrel Baldock play within days of arriving and was instantly and completely a fan. Got on to this site because some of the behaviour and the silly fights annoyed me. We are all Saints fans and we are all loving what is happening now. We have some great players and a great coach and it is all beginning to come together, like we never dreamed it would. I just really dig it...going to the games and watching some sublime skill. Watching thousands of Collingwood fans going home at half time! All those years spent on draughty terraces getting smashed now seem worthwhile.... I think we see Trolls where there aren't any and if we do see a real one just ignore them, they love most of all creating a fuss and getting people angry.
Don't give them a chance.... and bury this thread, it's exhausted itself.

Re Thornton being out. He has been good for the Blues this year, it isnt that we need him out to be any better but he is in good form. He has second most marks, do you think that he is not backing into packs taking these? He is!!

I saw reincarnated get a belting in another thread, which was a tad unfair...but he did lead with the chin (as many of us have). Sure he refers to himself like Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade a bit too much, and has a fascination for cages, but I'm sure has plenty on insight for all of us. By the way I still have not received confirmation that Joffaboy is a moderator or not, after his efforts in the thread where i introduced myself included telling me to lift my game and referring me to a fictitcious...I am left wondering, is he a man or mouse? Or infact a moron that lives for 2 hours per week when he watches 44 guys run around and thinks that he would give both of his underdeveloped testicles to play alongside them, hell he might even be happy enough to be the waterboy

What astounds me is that in any such thread, everyone wants to jump in and put in their $.02 on labeling a troll.

The way to send away trolls is not to feed them. Don't respond and ignore them.

The name "troll" is a play on words - the obvious being the under-the-bridge, but the action being that they're "trolling" as in fishing... for responses. The troll doesn't care whether your response is to insult them, their ancestry, their choice of underwear. They just care that you respond (conversely of course, mislabeling someone as a troll can cause great offense and hurt to someone who does care).

Doesn't mean a troll can't start a good thread, or productively get involved in discussion... but when "how-we-did-it-EASY" gets a 3 page thread off such an obvious jibe that adds no value, that poster is encouraged to continue - and continue to annoy. While reincarnated (whose posts I haven't seen, but now has some vouching for not being a troll) with the best of intentions gets discouraged and leaves the site.
